I don't think this should be a poll. I plan on taking them away unless we get at least one or two good arguments on why they should stay.

You should have made this a public poll and then ban all those who vote Yay.

Only thing I like about the rep system is how members can leave a comment about the post you left in a private manner.

I just discovered that you can click your User CP and view the comments people have made to your post.

I think if there is a way to disable viewing others reputation, and displaying it on the forum all together we should do that. However I think the ability to comment directly to members on their posts without going through the long PM process or cluttering a thread with "great post" is a welcomed feature.

If there is a way to disable viewing others rep points, but still enable the ability to leave rep comments on posts for the user to read, then I say keep them. Otherwise I'm indifferent.

I don't really care since i just reached two rep squares a few days ago *sour grapes T_T*

but..i do enjoy when i know i made a post/comment that actually make people go "hey that was really insightful" or "wow that got me thinking" or "dang, that post really contributed to the thread instead of the usual bash without merit/lol/meh"

Edit:after writing that, i swung my vote to yay \o/ (thats suppose to be a guy with arms up Olympic winning medal style"

I like that idea if its possible, I'd certainly still leave private comments to people even if the rep is disabled

I also disabled it fairly soon. Its just a way to distinguish the popular from the unpopular. Never saw much use for it.
Sorry drunken i know u liked the idea

I think it would be cool to have some interesting details about the posters tastes instead. Like favourite game or series. Online/offline game you currently play the most. Not too many though. we dont wanna clutter our avatars with walls of text.

I really don't think it distinguishes the popular people from the unpopular people, because the rep points are based on post content. The people that posts material that makes the reader warrant a +rep deserves that +rep then.

Again to restate my point, rep has nothing to do with popularity.
