I would've given the Dreamcast a 7 or an 8, not that I rate systems with a score. Sonic Adventure, Skies of Arcadia, Street Fighter III (both versions), Shenmue 1 & 2, Soul Calibur (still my favorite 3D fighter), House of the Dead, etc. etc. Zero Gunner 2 was good but Mars Matrix I cannot enjoy for some reason. Go figure. I agree about the system loading being very loud and grating, but I don't think the VMU ruined the console, although it wasn't as cool as a standard memory card. I don't enjoy Vampire Chronicles or whatever it's called because the characters are so tinny! Instead, I just play NightWarriors/Vampire Saviour on my Saturn.

blueskied, no, the omission of a great soundtrack won't kill a shooter, but you must admit that having a great soundtrack aggrandizes the experience.

I liked Hydro Thunder.
Especially that annoying announcer voice. It makes me laugh.

I liked the DC too. Joe is just mean.

You're right, I have not played Border Down and I don't care to. I do remember looking at the screens and being underwhelmed. I already have so many other great shooters. I have heard its music though and it REALLY SUCKS ASS. All shooters play pretty much the same, so graphics and music are key for shooters. And I am pretty good at good shooters. Ask fellow forum member Vicviper. Your feelings are just hurt because I don't like the system as much as you do. Don't cry, it'll be OK in the end. And no I am not mean. I am free to my opinion and it is my opinion that the system wasn't all that spectacular. And my opinion JUST HAPPENS to be fact!

I knew a lot of people wouldn't be able to handle the truth!

Yes Joe has some shooter talent. I remember him owning(kicking ass at) Gaires(Genesis).

But yes you did leave out some good games that are worth noting such as:

Typing of the Dead
Powerstone
Giga Wing 2
Test Drive-Vrally(good at the time)
Ecco teh Dolphin
Samba de Amigo
Sega Bass/Marine fishing
18-wheeler pro trucker
But these are good ones IMO.

Oh and you cut me down because I had a dial up modem at the time. Screw you and I h8 you 4evar!

Hold on a sec. What, praytell, is so "WOW!" about using the word aggrandize? It's not as complicated a word as obfuscation or unisonance, is it?
