Super Smash Bros. for Switch playable at various Japanese events starting June 17

Is this game just a port of the Wii U version with some more characters?

Any good wii u game was held back because, well, the fact that it was on wii u.

Nintendo is just salvaging the games that sold decently, doing the smart thing and port them to a successful system.

Yeah... it's funny how they don't say what exactly it is, but i am sure it's based on the Wii U game. Unless they plan to kill Sakurai or something.
If they are starting from scratch again, it's gonna take a while for the roster to hit acceptable levels again. But, i also don't know how they could make it look like a step up from the Wii U. The switch isn't that much of an upgrade and Nintendo did push that Wii U graphically.

I'm glad for that, I loved some games on the wii u, but the system itself is a pain. I'm hoping for a fixed up version of Fatal Frame 4 and 5 still on the switch.

This won’t be a jazzed up Wii U port. It’s going to be a full new Smash. The reason I’m so sure of that is because I’ve said since the Switch was released, when people were like ‘Where’s the Smash port?’ that they haven’t done that because they’re working on a new iteration.

I'm not positive if it's a port. I read that Sakurai been working on this since Smash 4 was done. Will see how it turns out.
