Everybody should be up to these specs. If not, your PC is outdated and can't play Doom 7.
i told the guy at the car boot sale to reserve me the deep blue computer, he's gonna sell it to me for ten bucks

20 gig hd

Yeah you need more ram and a new video card, just go to www.newegg.com. Find out what kind of ram you need for your mobo and I'm assuming your mobo is AGP so find out the speed of it (look in the manual for the mobo or you can open it up to see) and you can find some pretty good video cards at newegg just buy one that does what you want like if you want to run DOOM3 full speed. I play Call of Duty pretty well with a Radeon 9000 Pro, 1.2Ghz Duran, 768 PC100 SDRAM(20-25fps at pretty much the highest settings). For you I would go with a GeForce FX5700, Radeon 9600, or Radeon 9800 (there are different versions of each Pro or an XT is the way to go for Radeons and Ultra is the way to go for GeForces). And I suggest 512 MB for ram addition.

Just a heads up, 20-25 should not be considered as running pretty well. On any game for the PC, ESPECIALLY FPS style games.

Who cares its playable thats all I care about, tons of people play Doom3 at that speed. I think playing pretty well is fps that is playable and for my setup thats damn good.
