Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition adds E. Honda, Lucia, and Poison on August 4

Poison was a cross dressing guy in the original Final Fight in Japan.

Latest characters leaked ahead of Evo 2019.

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will add E. Honda, Lucia, and Poison on August 4, according to a new trailer posted on the game’s Steam page. A new stage, “Honda Sento,” will also be available. On August 5, Capcom will release a “Summer 2019 Character Bundle,” which does not include certain costumes and the Honda Sento stage.

The announcement of these characters was likely planned for Evo 2019, an annual tournament dedicated exclusively to fighting games that will run from August 2 to 4 at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is available now for PlayStation 4 and PC.

That information is false. Poison has always been a women. They changed it in the Western version of final fight on SNES to an ugly skiny dude and were too lazy to change her name. So after years and years a PR in Capcom America just decided to make it a cross dresser to make the censorship be canon.

That story was not intentional or made by capcom of japan or the original team. Same was as Bison is actually called Vega which by far more fitting than a an american boxer name.

In short the whole of westernise version of SF is not canon.

It's nice that finally capcom is remembering that they got characters they can actually use for fighting games, hopefully they'll remember that they have Rival Schools and Saturday Night Slammasters.

Yeah, I remember that because of nintendo's policy back in the games they frowned upon hitting women in Final Fight so capcom jokingly said they were dudes and this outraged nintendo demanding them go be replaced by actual looking dudes. The same they did with Final Fight 2 but they let go with 3.

I think the story about changing the names in SF 2 was because they didn't want to get into legal troubles with certain boxer of the moment the full name was Mike Bison.

I agree with paper.

Though i'm too used to Vega being the Spaniard now, so theres no changing it.

Funnily enough though, they made Poison to look like it could be a trans person. So it kind of went around.
I obviously have no problems with what they want to make her be. It is as silly as the Mika ass controversy. It's polygons and textures, not real people. It makes no sense to treat them as such.

Ah but on this news. Honda looks fun. I'm feeling meh about the rest. Either way it's unlikely i will redownload it. I can't forget the atrocious load times and constant internet connection.

Wiki said Poison has done a sexual reassignment surgery, so "she" was a dude.

Quote:
...
A later appearance by Poison as a playable character in Final Fight Revenge, an American-produced 3D fighting game spinoff of Final Fight, portrayed the character in a highly feminine manner and had her romantically interested in Final Fight hero Cody. Commentary about her ending in the game in All About Capcom suggested that the character may have received sex reassignment surgery.[10] The Final Fight-related character profiles featured in Capcom Classics Collection instead allude to her being a cross-dresser, while addressing Roxy as a "she" who dislikes Poison's cross-dressing.[12]
