Gears of War PC impressions

Quote:
Gamernode - "If you're still a bit shaky about GoW for PC, just chainsaw an enemy for the first time and you can watch the pure gore and blood splattered camera in its fully glory. Then come back to me and say that you don't want to play the game, I dare you. The port doesn't feel like a port; instead it feels like a rather finely crafted PC game, which is a dime in a dozen nowadays."

GamesRadar - "The PC version of Gears of War is a welcome reminder of how much better PC gaming can be, and that it can do big, stupid action way better than the consoles that took stupid to the masses. And the extra levels that won't be released on Xbox because it can't handle them? Well, that's just funny."

Planet Gears of War - "For gamers who are already well experienced at Gears on the Xbox 360 it might be difficult to justify purchasing an entirely new game for the purpose of playing a few extra hours of single player content and a few extra multiplayer maps (plus game type). However, 3-4 hours of gameplay is quite significant especially when you consider that some recent retail games featured 5-6 hours of play in their entirely."
I love the last two with their digs at the xbxo version. I still wont be playing it however. Not my style of game. Out in a couple days. Links to full sneering impressions below

I paid for MGS3 twice (ish, the newer one was only $19.99) so I'd have no problems *ahem*acquiring*cough* this game if I had something to run it on.

Epic opening up modding to the PC community? Haven't followed this close enough.

Epic always does that. PC mod community is what drives them so strongly throughout the years.

Epic always releases updates / patches / maps for free too, but thanks to their agreement with MS they didn't. I was just wondering if they were forced to leave mod support out at a contractual level.
