Yeah, it's obvious they will make a sequel, but expansion's kick ass because they come out so much sooner then full blown sequels and some are quite good. ( i like the medal of honor one's and any expansion done by blizzard)

Just looking at PC game sales data shows another powerful reason why PC gaming is in a huge slump

That really makes me happy. To see a great title that deserves the number 1 spot gets the number 1 spot (And it's been there for a time allready)

The rest of the top 10 looks like Europe console softwares chart..where EA pwnz everyone.

The slump is normal, its freakin Febuary and there havent been any releases lately because of the post-Xmas season. ITs like that every year. Things will bick up soon, till we hit une-july and we get f**kall till after summer :p

For a system that is supposed to cater to hardcore gamers, it sure doesn't show when the sales figures come up, eh?

It is the same ol' same old. Week after week, month after month. Clones, clones and clones (bloody excellent game or not, CoD is still a riskless EA-style clone). No company takes risks anymore (even minor ones) and when they do it doesn't pay off (which, in turn, is why it doesn't happen).

You could say the same for the console industry, but it isn't anywhere near this bad. The PC gaming industry has been in a big slump for a long time, and there is no sign of better things to come

Well there is a difference really. The top ten are either popular games or stuff that parents buy for their kids. Noone plays Zoo Tycoon. I'm sorry but its true. Its usually bought by idiot parents or grand parents to give away. Or something.

The games that are different to most things normally dont make it to the top 10 or aren't there for long. Theres some classy original games for the PC like The Guild for example. With the console industry, if a game doesn't sell too well then they usually dump it. With PC you still have strange things popping up whether they're popular or not. Theres alot of strange things on the PC. Its a treasure trove.
