Which in my opinion is just plan ridiculously. You shouldn't need a $1k gaming PC just to do word processing in Vista.

(Of course I'm saying nothing different then the others before me. Its just a irritation to M$)

Live is not like most online gaming PC sites. Theres craploads out there that are free and which you dont need to pay for. My ISP for example has probably way more 100 different servers in a dozen or so games. Live would be good if it was completely free. Like an online store where you can buy stuff but to be part of it is free. ie STEAM.

And I think most people buying Halo 2 for vista are the same who bought halo for pc. The xbox gamers that wanted to play with mouse and keyboard.

You don't need a 1k machine to do Word processing in Vista. But you will probably want it to run higher end stuff reliably. I rather spend 1-2k on a gaming PC to play games than to spend just as much on a system that doesn't.

I think someone missed the part of Atari's post where he said getting your "Frag-On" was free. It was the friends list, IM, ect that you pay extra to gain access to. In that sense, it sounds quite a bit like other online services to me.

You have to pay if you want to play online with others on certain games. Which means it could get messy later down the track.

Yes I know. I was a little sarcastic with that comment.

I picked up Shadowrun today for Vista. Circuit City had it on sale for 20 bucks off. Quite a fun game. I've only done the tutorial and some bot matches but I'm having a blast. It reminds me a lot of Counter Strike, only beefed up. I haven't done any gaming on Live yet. Got it setup nice and easily, runs great.
