I think we should ignore where they put the games in the list and more WHAT games they put in.

Can't say I agree with all their choices but I truly believe their number one is completely spot on.

I would agree on that its one of my top 5 games of all time. 01. Deus Ex ftw!?!?

DEUS EX'S CREATOR WARREN SPECTOR ON BEING NO.1
"Our need to create something truly interactive - that got players 'off the rails' - drove us to solve all but impossible problems. There was a thrill, a feeling of being part of something special. Working on DX was gruelling and stressful, but none of us had a choice about it - we had to deliver the Game Of The Year - just making a good game wouldn't have been enough.

"It's incredibly gratifying to be recognised for your work. Winning more than 30 'Best Of' awards in 2001 was terrific. And hearing from players, as I still do, who've played the game numerous times is... Well, a little scary, but still cool! Having other developers tell me that DX changed the way they think about their work, and seeing games come along that were openly inspired by DX, now that's a great feeling.

"But, honestly, all the accolades pale before the experience of being part of the team that made Deus Ex. So, thanks to PC ZONE for recognising DX as a great game. But my deepest thanks go to the team that made it possible."
Pity you fucked up the sequel you huge wanker!

I'm sure as a game it was ok. But comparing it to what it should of been, ie sequel to Deus Ex, it failed in massive amounts.

Really don't agree with Deus Ex being #1. Quality game and probably in my top 20 for all platforms...but best of all time? It didn't even get the shooting and technical aspects right.

There are some pretty big gaps in that list, too, not to mention games that weren't all that great (crappy ports of PoP & FFVII, among others). No Jagged Alliance 2, no Freespace 2, none of the Mechwarrior games etc.

Still, it is a nice reminder of just how awesome the PC has been as a gaming platform for so long. I really want a Mafia 2

Hmm? I'm confused as to what you mean. I've played pretty much all the major shooters for the pc and I always go back to Deus Ex and have just as much, and sometimes alot more fun than I do with fear, half life 2, stalker, and the such. I agree that at least one of the mechwarriors needed to make the list.

Mech Warrior 2 should of been there. That game was super awesome. Its what made me buy a 3D card back then when I saw clouds and lightning and stuff, something that wasnt there with the 2D card I was using.

Every Blizzard game that exists should be put in the top 10.

Did I miss it, or was WoW not on there at all?

Seems like mostly new-er games...

My fav PC game is from 1992.
