I still like to state that I went on record before the first game came out saying it would be the biggest selling game in PC history. I'm awesome.

Are they trying to get Nintendo position with best selling software! No one can beat top quality games such as Mario bros 3 or pokemon no matter how much they cheat with numbers fill it with expansions and keep producing it for over 10 years and on so many places and languages. at lest Nintendo doesn't need to play cheap in order to get that position they get it because of their awesomeness and brilliancy. AND ANYONE who disagrees with me is a biased fanboy! I said it first thus this comment wouldn't apply to me!!1!

After 10-15 years probably EA will announce that their Spore franchise reached 100 million copies sold.

Nintendo has alot've respect for Will Wright and his "Sim" franchise. Just throwing that out there.

What are they counting as sales though?

Sims 1? Sims2? Sims Online? Sims Expansion Packs?

If they count every sale of an expansion pack "Sale +1 to Sims" then that number is FAR FAR less impressive.

Its impressive over a period of 7 or so years. Doesnt matter how many expansions there are, very very few series, if ANY, can sell copies of itself consistently. Lets say for example theres 20 games in the series, counting expansions from 1 and 2 and cross platform. To reach 100mill each one will have to sell 5mill. Ofcourse this isnt acurate since some expansions sell much much less and the original 1 and 2 sims sells heaps more. The multiplatform titles also do not sell as much. Either way average of 5mill is more then impressive for ANY game series.

Plus don't forget everyone on the PC pirates and it's why developers are fleeing to consoles.

Dont think so. Dont think of small update packs as expansions. Just the game and the proper expansion packs are most likely counted since the other stuff are more bonus stuff then anything else.
