The European & Japanese SNES Classic is even more adorable than the US version

I love the look of the Euro or the Japanese version over the US version.

The European SNES Classic is even more adorable than the US version

Nintendo just dropped a bomb in the sedate post-E3 summer game news cycle by announcing the SNES Classic, a miniature $79 version of the classic Super Nintendo Entertainment System preloaded with 21 fan-favorite SNES games. In other words, it’s basically a SNES version of last year’s nearly impossible-to-find NES Classic.

The NES Classic was adorable, but many fans coveted the Famicom Classic Mini, the Japanese markets version of the console based on the original Japan-only Famicom design. Similarly, the SNES Classic is getting a Europe-only version that shrinks down the sleek curves of the Japanese SNES design. Meanwhile, Americans will get a mini version of the iconic, dour purple and boxy protrusions of the original SNES.

The differences between the two consoles, however, is purely cosmetic. Both will launch with the same lineup of 21 games (including the unreleased Star Fox 2) on September 29th.

I snagged a preorder from amazon Germany, have to pay more cause of conversion and shipping, but worth it if you don't want the hassle of trying to get one. If I can easily get one over here, then I will just cancel the order, or keep it but sell to someone else.

That's slightly a better selection with the super famicom mini although they don't get Mother 2.

But bah! Tales of Phantasia, Seiken Densetsu 3 and Fire Emblem Seisen no Keifu or Trachia 776 deserved to be in there.

I like ours better for game selection. But, I wish we still got Mystical Ninja. Love that game.

Yeah, I wasted a lot of time going to the game center playing Gradius.

Oh also Gradius III and Axelay would have been great too.

I still have my copy of Axelay, great game. I can always get to the end of Gradius 3 and then I goof'd and died losing all my upgrades

You just use the konami code and fix everything up or you will just gain more rage after the input.

I stopped using cheats to beat games, like using it with Contra, more fun trying to beat it without dying.

Of course.

What's the fun if you're going to take the easiest way around?

The trolling of using the konami code in Gradius III was that if you input it as it has always been known it will selfdestruct the ship hence taking a like away something that has been implemented in some games afterwards.

Is there even a link to order it on Amazon Canada?

I'm sure if there is, it's sold out and ruled by scalpers now.

Amazon.ca fucking sucks.

nope, it hasn't come up yet. But, don't be surprised if it's Prime exclusive over here, the switch has been and the NES classic after they got really popular, they also did it with Hatchimals.... I should know, I was forced to get Prime to order them for Christmas, damn brats, they don't even touch those piles of crap anymore! I called that the first time they told me to find them and order it. lol

If they do that, I will personally kick every amazon employee in the balls.
