Any good virus programs? (help)
Yeah my computer all of a sudden started running extremely slow. If there's anothe thread like this, sorry, im not waiting all that time to load each one. When I was playing ragnarok I started getting slow downs and now they wont go away. On internet and game.
I ran Spybot: Search and Destroy and destroyed spyware and ran a second check to make sure if they came back and they didn't. This didn't help me at all. So maybe I ahve a virus but I dont know any good free virus scanner things and I dont ahve any. So if anyone could suggest one or two that would be great. |

I use Norton 2005 and it does it's job. Anyway, most important thing when it comes to a windows pc is that you keep it updated all the time. Second I suggest you guys to use another browser other than explorer (firefox is top candidate). You should also use not one but two anti-spyware software (I suggest Spybot and Adaware) cuz there are some spyware either one will miss. As for anitivirus software, you can try antivir which is free. You can also try panda antivirus or McAfee.

Ive been using AVG for about a year+ now, used to use Norton but moved onto AVG. Free, quick, Regular updates and does the job perfectly. ive never had any problems with it and my computer is running just like the day i bought it.
Also Reiko how much RAM do you have? id reccommend chucking in a stick of 256-512mb to boost your performance, uninstall crap you dont ever use and do disk cleanups. also download Adaware SE and run that to get rid of all the other spyware, i always use both Spybot and Adaware in combination and it works great. |

AVG is the best free one, PC-Cillin is possibly the best pay one. I'd stay clear of Norton. That one doesnt actually pick up some trojans so if you think you're safe you might actually not be.
Best way to check though is to download The Cleaner by moosoft. ITs a trojan scanner and its bloody brilliant. Best one out there. Freefor 30days then you gotta pay for it. Unless you know Dodgy Dave who can 'fix' it. |
