PS Vita physical game production to end March 31, 2019 in the Americas and Europe

This has one of the worse treatment by its maker -- at least in America.

PS Vita physical game production to end March 31, 2019 in the Americas and Europe

Say goodbye to physical PS Vita games.

Sony Interactive Entertainment’s American and European branches “plan to end all Vita GameCard production by close of fiscal year 2018,” the company told developers in an e-mail today obtained by Kotaku. Digital distribution will continue, however.

In the e-mail, Sony told developers they must submit all PS Vita physical product code requests by June 28, and final purchase orders by February 15, 2019. Sony’s 2018 fiscal year ends on March 31, 2019.

Sony confirmed in an e-mail to Kotaku that PS Vita GameCard production is coming to an end.

PS Vita first launched in Japan in December 2011, followed by North America and Europe in February 2012.

Not surprising knowing that for some time lots of stores stopped selling vita games.

Sony did a terrible job marketing the console, it was such a waste.

Yeah, the Vita refuses to die, but Sony keeps nailin the coffin while supporting the VR fad. Meh...

By May 2019 there won't any. Muv Luv and Punchline are pretty much the last games from PQube that are getting wide releases. The rest are limited releases from LRG or one of the others. Not really worth keeping it going.

The Vita was a incredible piece of hardware. I have no idea why Sony made it if they had no real ambitions to actually support it.

I got my PS Vita TV for free (it's the one that you can only connect to TV) when I bought my PS4, I only bought 2 games on it, Persona 4 Golden and another RPG game.
