SCREW THAT GAME! I mean, it's really good....but it's the current posterboy for RNG giving zero shits about you.

On a side note, I got a nice little bonus from work, so I put it toward a $800 monitor:

So excited to see how adaptive refresh rates feel. Also, 27", GSync, IPS (4ms), 1440p, 144Hz. I'm ready for GTAV, Arkham Knight, and Witcher 3.

I also spoke with Newegg directly about the return policy and I can return it if it has a single dead pixel I can't unstick. So I feel good about that.

What's adaptive about it? Everything will display at 144Hz. The monitor is stuck forever at that refresh rate. Note that that doesn't mean 144 frames per second. That's kind of a shitty refresh rate, though. Doesn't sync evenly with 30 or 60. 240Hz is the ideal refresh rate. Syncs perfectly with 24, 30 and 60. And it can go to higher frame rates as well.

The timing of the monitor is controlled by the graphics card. It eliminates screen tearing from uncapped frame rates in games and stuttering caused by vsync. Tons of people have been saying that it really smooths out the picture, so dips from 60 to 40 fps are much less noticeable. I love a high frame rate, but even in a game as well optimized as GTAV, I can still tell when I go from 70 to 50 when driving fast on the road.

Seriously, it's more like a Rhianna/Chris Brown simulator based on how abusive that RNG is.

Interesting. I hate screen tearing. I guess it has to be that fast to keep the latency slow for such things. 50fps is an odd frame rate for most monitors since it doesn't divide evenly into many refresh rates like, say, 60 does. So it would be pretty easy to notice the different between 60 and 50fps on most monitors (for people like us. For Aunt Gertrude not so much).

That's for poor people.

(But in all honesty, freesync still needs work. Apparently it gets really bad when framerates dip low.)

I got Disgaea 4 on the Vita. The demo convinced me. I think its the best Disgaea and the only one i probably will play to the end.

I also got mars war logs on PS3 the other day and of course, the Witcher 3 on PS4.

Will be getting Xenoblade again, on the new 3DS this week. I like the game too much and it will be handy to have it on the 3DS. I want to do all side-quests on the next playthrough... with that said... i doubt i will ever find the time for it. I need to stop buying games, in particular RPG's. I'm not sure i will ever be able to play them all. :x
