Birthday is coming up. I got some gifts coming.

Started it last night. Liking it so far. Kind of slow paced, but I like games like that every now and then. Facial animation is amazing. And I love the music.

Huzzah!

A nice coffee maker that also produces a separate hot water dispenser for my oatmeal. I just set it out the night before and when I get out of the shower, I'll have coffee and oatmeal!

I've asked for this for Xmas. I'm actually really interested in playing it. What's the general consensus of opinion on this game?

It's good in small doses. People jump into it expecting GTA and don't expect the slower paced nature of it; I really enjoyed it, but it's not the type of game you can just play non-stop all day. But a great game nevertheless.

Rockstar is a pretty unique company (yes I know Rockstar didn't develop this one). They always seem to encapsulate specific genres of film in a way that no other company can. The look and sound of each of these following games matches many of the great crime, western, and noir films.

Crime--------->GTA4
Westerns---->Red Dead Redemption
Noir----------->L.A. Noir

L.A. Noir reminds me a lot of Phoenix Wright in ways, with a dark 'LA Confidential' twist. You listen to testimonies, 'object' when there's a contradiction, and present evidence to prove that your P.O.I. (Person of Interest) was lying. Pretty fun game.

Don't notice any in the first 6 hours or gameplay on the PC version. What kind of bugs are they claiming?

I don't recall specifically. I just remember being interested in the game and then everyone started reporting bugs and other things that were wrong with it so I never picked it up. Console gamer here, not sure if it affects the PC version.

I wish consoles had more DRM.

The one I got is the re-issue of LA Noire. The Complete Edition was just released and it features all the DLC. Perhaps they fixed whatever bugs were in the initial release for this newer edition?

Yeah, I guess you'll enjoy DRM free LA Noire then. But the PS3 will only max out at 720p and the XBox 360 is still the Xbox 360, even if it runs at 1080p.

Oh wait, the DRM on LA Noire is a one time activation. No disc needed in the machine. No internet connection needed after activation. Hmmm....so I guess the benefits of consoles is getting to play it on a console! With longer loading times and inferior graphics! Yippie.

Really? I've experienced longer loading times when I play games downloaded from Steam. Not sure what they're doin', but they take forever to get their act in gear, much longer than it takes to turn on an boot a game up in a PS3. This is after the download has completed. And don't tell my my hard drives are slow, I edit 1080p video on this thing.

Can you let a friend borrow your PC game? What if you get a new computer?

Anyway I think I'm OK with those limitations. Modern gaming is not important enough to me to need to need to build a gaming PC and constantly upgrade graphics cards and the like.

You need to 'update' your graphics card as often as you buy a new console. But PC gamers are snobs so we update whenever we feel like it. There's no need, it's all want. After all, wether we're talking PC or consoles, it's all the same configuration of parts, just different parts.

If you're already spending money on building a PC beefy enough to edit 1080p, throwing in a video card on par with the PS3 or XBox 360's power would cost less than buying a 360 or PS3. If you want something better, then you're talking about spending around $250 for that video card ontop of your PC that can edit 1080p.

Also I don't let my friends borrow my games. That's communism. They can buy their own games.

Yep played the whole of the XB360 version and there weren't any bugs that I can think of. Most likely just haters...

Can u rent gamez from teh Blokbusterz?

My Mac has a ATI Radeon HD 5770. That's complete dogshit on a stick, right? PC gamers tell me that. They say they wouldn't be caught dead with such a shitty card and they're surprised it can even put more than 3 pixels on the screen. It also has only 1 GB of VRAM which is SHIT these days. 8GB minimum, right?
