WWE released Gunner Scott (Brent Albright) today. Scott was previously on the SmackDown roster, but was sent to Ohio Valley Wrestling this past June because company officials felt he could not connect with the audience.

Batista won a triple threat match on smackdown this week to decide the next contender for King Booker's World Heavyweight Championship, the other 2 wrestler's in the match were Lashley and Finlay, the title match is next week.
---------------
Staying on Smackdown news Chris Benoit defeated Mr. Kennedy to become the new U.S Champion.
---------------
Again on Smackdown this week M.V.P came out and said he wanted a opponent he could sink his teeth into, someone that could make him sweat, Teddy Long came out and introduced the newest member of the Smackdown Roster: Kane, this was supposed to be a match but M.V.P Kept on stopping the ref from ringing the bell, in the end M.V.P left the ring, Kane followed him and beat him up (i missed this so i can't describe it too well).
---------------
Bad opening night for "The Marine"

Despite an aggressive WWE ad campaign, "The Marine" failed to impress at the Friday night box office.

While the estimated sixth-place, $2.3 million opening night places the film on track for the lower-end of industry estimates, the film needed to decisively top those estimates in order to be considered a big success for WWE Films.

On a per-theatre basis, this film's opening actually performed below the first night of WWE's "See No Evil," which did $1,338/screen to "The Marine"'s $884/screen.

"The Grudge 2" opened atop the Friday box office with $9.7 million, while other new entry "Man Of The Year" placed third with $4 million. "The Departed," last week's winner, moved down to second with $5.8 million.

*SPOILERS* Stipulation revealed for main event at Cyber Sunday PPV

There has been much speculation as to what the fans will be voting for in regards to the "Champion of Champions" match between John Cena, King Booker and The Big Show at Cyber Sunday. It seems that the fans will be allowed to vote for which title will be on the line - so this would mean that either the WWE Title, the World Championship Title, or the ECW World Title will be on the line during the Triple Threat match.

The Intercontinental Title will also be on the line as Jeff Hardy will defend the title against whoever wins the fans vote to challenge him for the title. The contenders involved are Johnny Nitro, Shelton Benjamin, Carlito, Super Crazy, and Chris Masters.

Also the local advertising in Cincinnati market lists Ric Flair, DX, Vince McMahon, The Spirit Squad, Edge, Lita, Randy Orton, Rob Van Dam, Batista, Sabu, and William Regal to all appear at Cyber Sunday.

WWE recently sent Kurt Angle a nasty legal letter with several demands, such as not using the terms "Angle lock" or "The Wrestling Machine", which Angle pretty much laughed off. WWE may also have claimed ownership to the term "Angle slam", and if so he will have to find a new name for the maneuver.

Former WWE Superstar Thomas Spear, professionally known as Corporal Kirchner, passed away of natural causes Sunday in his home in White Marsh, Md. He is survived by his two sons, daughter and step-daughter, as well as two grandchildren.

A Vietnam veteran, Kirchner is known for defending his country in the ring as well as out. He is not only revered as one of sports-entertainment?s toughest competitors, but also one of its greatest patriots.

In the early 1980s, Kirchner was a close prot?g? of another patriot, former WWE Champion and Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter. Perhaps one of Kirchner?s most celebrated victories took place at WrestleMania 2 where he defeated WWE Hall of Famer Nikolai Volkoff in a Flag Match.

2.DX Vs Edge & Randy Orton, again you can vote at wwe.com, this time it is to decide who will referee the match, the choices are Eric Bischoff, Coach or Vince McMahon.

I think this last week of TNA Impact was the best episode Ive ever seen. In a confrontation (not an actual wrestling match) Kurt Angle totally MAWED Samoa Joe with a headbutt and an Angle slam and Joe was bleeding, but Joe came back with an INZEGURI KICK to the head and then they had a huge brawl, best wrestling moment I've seen probably since Stone Cold was around.

The wrestling website PWInsider.com was sent an e-mail earlier this morning from the mother of former WWE superstar Corporal Kirchner saying that WWE.com had made an error in reporting that her son had passed away. In face, she has no idea who Thomas Spears is, and apparently they have contacted WWE about this error and since then, the official website has removed the story from their main page.

WWE confirmed earlier this afternoon that Kevin Federline will once again appear on this week?s edition of RAW. He will be in the corner for Johnny Nitro when Nitro takes on WWE Champion John Cena. Federline is making these appearances to cross-promote his upcoming album, Playing with Fire.

The Federline/Spears Split & What It Has To Do With WWE
Posted by Ashish on 11.07.2006

Did WWE have something to do with it?

As reported earlier in the 411 Music section, Britney Spears has filed for divorce from Kevin Federline. That article is available Here .

Several gossip sites are reporting that Spears left Federline days ago after he snapped into a rage, screaming at Spears and destroying property. The reason for the outburst was apparently because Spears laughed at a tape of Federline's WWE appearances.

The news seems to work out well for WWE since Federline will get a lot of publicity from this and is scheduled to continue working with WWE, including a match against John Cena on the 01/01/07 RAW.

Big Show gone?

Quote:
According to the Wrestling Observer newsletter the Big Show will be leaving WWE in February. The Hulk Hogan-Big Show match that was planned for WrestleMania match is not even 100% certain right now as Big Show's contract expires in February and he is in a great deal of physical pain right now. He legitimately weighs 520 pounds, finds travelling difficult, has already been taken off of most minor house shows and plans are being made to get the ECW title off of him soon. The problem with the title is that, realistically, Rob Van Dam is the only ECW guy in a good position to win it and yet Vince McMahon has been said to be determined not to let him be the champion again following his arrest the last time around. He also feels RVD cannot be a draw as champion, although others feel the crowds will be the same no matter who has the belt. Big Show has been telling people he is considering leaving next year and going into acting, since his size and comedic personality makes him rather unique and should get him plenty work. His original contract, signed in 1999, was $950,000 a year for ten years. It was renegotiated later when management felt he wasn't working hard enough and sent him to OVW, with Jim Ross cutting it down to $1,000,000 a year for eight years. Eventually, Vince got irritated about paying that much for anybody in developmental and they just took him as he was. John Laurinaitis started talking to him about a new deal recently, which involved a major pay cut. After Kurt Angle left the company had more money available for wages and he was offered a five-year extension at the same wage, which he turned down. The company was shocked at this, yet Big Show just doesn't believe he can continue because of the severe pain he is experiencing. His back is shot and he fears that he may start rapidly deteriorating like Andre the Giant did at around the same stage of his life. Because they cut back his dates he has agreed to work through till February unless things get extraordinarily bad, then take a hiatus and hopefully recover enough to return. He is in a secure financial position but may never be able to handle a full-time schedule again. He has not confirmed anything about WrestleMania yet but the feeling is that he will work the show because of Hogan's involvement unless he is physically incapable.
Expect him to lose the belt at December to Dismember. And I would bet money he winds up in TNA later on. TNA is where it's at now, it's a much easier schedule (very few house shows) and he still would land 6 figures. Big Show to TNA, watch it happen sooner or later.

WWE has confirmed The Big Show’s departure from the company. According to an article posted on WWE.com, Big Show couldn’t continue to perform with all of the lagging injuries he has suffered over the last several years of being in the professional wrestling industry.

Big Show spent seven years in WWE and five months in the re-born ECW. He commented by saying that “I’ve reached a point in my career right now where I am a little run down and hurt pretty bad physically. I’ve been wrestling the past three months pretty much in pain every night. I can’t compete at the level I want to compete at, and that’s the most heartbreaking thing.”
