Silent Hunter V: Battle Of The Atlantic

To be honest I've never looked at this series before but I kinda wish I did now. It certainly looks like it has plenty of depth to make a good simulation game and its gotten some good reviews in the past. I'm so glad someone still makes sims. Those were the best things about pc gaming in the 90s.

Entirely ingame clips. Out end of the month.

If a person puts in the time, I bet this game would be awesome. I've never played any of the games in this series either. I believe the first game in the series was actually published by the great SSI.

I still bust out Sid Meier's Silent Service (Atari XL/XE) and Silent Sevice II (Atari ST) every now and then. They are both still highly playable.

Now thats old school. I think my favourite sim as Gunship on the C64. My lord almost every key on the keyboard was used. And I was only fucking 12 and playing complex shit like that. Now days we got Ace Combat. Best way to put me to sleep for sure.

I have Gunship for my Atari ST as well. Keyboard overlay FTW! :-)

Ya, console sims have been dumbed down to basically line-up the site and press A for missiles, B for machine gun.

Over G Fighters by Taito was fairly cool.

Over G Fighters w/dumbed down controls: 4/10
Over G Fights w/sim controls: 8.5/10
