Norton virus lol

my dad bought a laptop about 6 months ago- he had no idea about anti-virus programs- only norton virus.

so his PC was slowing down like crazy, and his broadband was at something like dial-up speeds.

ive never used his computer and his never uses mine- but one day he noticed how super fast my PC is, i said its because i clean it regularly and run lots of anti virus programs and firewalls.

lol when i checked out his PC it was slow as ****- a high performance laptop!!!!!

so i told him about virus programs and downloaded AVG, spy bot, anti vir, ad aware, and zone alarm.

when i tried installing norton it was trying to stop the other virus programs running by calling them threats!!!! lmao

so i was like i gotta delete norton- and its so hard to convince him of **** becuase he likes to imagine i dont know anything about computers as ....well i donno.... anyway eventually i said that norton is the most ****tiest of ****ness there is ever.

he told me he had never had a virus in 6 months....LMAO ROFLMAO HAHAHA.

that cracked me up i laughed in his face- i ran a norton check- nothing nada zero anything detected accept the other virus programs lol.

so i went to add romove and tried uninstalling norton- boy is this program a bitch to get rid of or what! its split into like 5 proprams or something and they are huge files- man what a gay program- half the **** wouldnt delete, it took me like half an hour to sort it all.

eventually i killed the virus bitch and ran an AVG scan

i got 324 viruses- many critical.....lmao

i run the spy checks

somethings like 150 ad bots and stuff.....

lol i got rid of them

then i run it again.... this time there was another half as much as last time discovered.

i had to run 5 scans to get rid of all the little ****s running and hiding around.

so i then proceeds to turn on the avg firewall and zone alarm...- i switch on the internet and bam virus detected....i click heal, in the blink of an eye another appears...i heal again and then another appears.

this PC was bombarded for an hour in this way with constant virus's and hack attepts and hundreds of port checks-

the viruses managaed to open up loads of ports- hackers must of been messing with this thing too- maybe noobs.... its was crazy the amount of **** on there..

so i say would you pay to be injected with aids???... norton definately needs to be boycotted, i'll trry and get some images of the viruses soon as i get access to my pops PC.

samething happened to my brother haha, he goes, I just got this computer, theres no way theres viruses, so like you, I got the free stuff, has my pay antivirus scanner only allows to be on one computer, over 200 viruses and programs were running all at once haha it was a 4 ghz computer and running slow and the only thing installed was Doom3, and a few other small internet games haha cause we just got it and already in 2 weeks he had that many
mostly cause he didn't update either, he was running XP without the SP1 or 2

and then my sister wanted clipart for publisher, so she went on the internet (crap) and found clipart, and we all know what happens when you find certain crap from the internet! ESPICALLY clipart and emoticons and bonzai buddy

by the end of the day from all the stuff she downloaded I HAD OVER 1000 VIRUSES/Spybots/Adware ON MY COMPUTER! TOOK ME 2 WEEKS TO GET RID OF EVERYTHING!

I was getting so frasturated I was going to reformat my computer, cause some had hidden files where it would just reinstall itself if deleted! argh and then she had the nerve to say it was me who got all the virues for going to porn sites! Fooking BLONDES!

Yeah, if the infection is bad enough, Norton can be infected as well, sort of a virus counter measure. All the more reason why Norton Antivirus is ****ty.

Go with AVG.

my computer is running slow. I have McAfee and it is not picking up any viruses. Could you give me links for those programs you ran on your dads computer Finalsolace?

Mcaffee sucks too. the only thing Mcaffee is good for is their stinger bot which should be used as a pre-emptive method for clearing out large infections.

Norton will do more harm to your computer than anything. Get the free anti-virus software called Anti Vir or something like that. Works perfectly!

Just remember your system could be running slow because you have 100 programs loading up at startup and staying active throughout. You shouldnt have more then like 5-7 little icons in the lower left corner. Also a defrag goes a LONG way to making your system run smoother. Especially if you're downloading alot and deleting stuff and moving etc.

when my Laptops harddrive went bad(and cost me 500 bucks to get a new one) the guy at the cpu shot said that Norton was infected so it wasnt doing anything.

AVG ANTIVIR ADAWARE SPYBOT ZONEALARM

memorize that if you want a smooth running PC

Norton is S HIT!

I could go on and on about how much I hate the program, I should go into the angry thread cuz im gettin pissed just thinking about that damned program!

If you have too much crap running in the background then your system will work less efficient. Your best bet is to just go and spend the $30 or whatever a year and keep an updated PC-Cillin program on your system. I've been buying it for like 5 years and its legendary.

http://antivirus.about.com/od/antivi...r/tpis2005.htm

Info on it, go buy it for the love of god.
