Freaking Download Accelerator Plus

Sup,

I downloaded this a while back but didn't find much use for it and uninstalled it but it still initiates sometimes in Firefox. Like I'll click on a download link and it will say DAP can't download this blah blah and I have to switch to IE to download the file.

What can I do to remove it completely?

- Thanks

Sounds like firefox is confused on how to download stuff since you uninstalled the program. You'll have to mess with your settings for the browser. I'm not sure what to look for since I've never played with that accelerator program before. Always had flashget.

I went to Firefox>Options>Content>Manage and a few file types were associated DAP, I changed that but still no cigar.

Oh well.

Reinstall Firefox WITHOUT uninstalling it. Usually fixes issues like these. Also delete the C:\Program Files\DAP or whatever it's called folder.

I tried those but they didn't work (the various install and uninstall methods he posted).

The only one I didn't try was in http://xona.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=121 because I googled the file UNWISE.EXE and someone said it was a Trojan.

(thanks for helping man)

I already have the Flashgot plugin for firefox.

Which tab is the "built in" function under? I can't find it in Flashgot>Options

Oh you meant the one in the Firefox options? I thought maybe there was one in the Flashgot options (in the actual program).

Yeah I tried that, still nothing.
