it's pretty obvious that gates no longer cares about the xbox 360 because at first you couldn't keep him out of the media about it. but now he's rarely seen.

but you can tell that gates wants to rid himself of the the thing but just refuses to admit defeat at the hands of sony so i think that's the only thing fueling gates' desire to keep it alive.because if it were any other company i think they would have pulled the plug long ago. and i'm willing to bet if things get worse than what they are then a firing is in order, i think that moore's days are very numbered.

Yeah, I'm sure Gates trying to distance himself from the public face of the Xbox has nothing to do with seperating the negative image most gamers have of him from the Xbox brand.

They didnt do that, infact i think the dreamcast was the only system that came out with alot of games, not to mention alot of great games.

360 only had a few games at release, and all of them suck, expect for quake 4.

But the biggest reason about 360 is the price of the system and paying 60 bucks for a game is retarted.
true that man. from my point of view there's not enough good games out for it right now to make it worth the purchase, and not enough good lookign exclusives to make me consider it over the ps3.

If you look at the release schedules this fall, the exclusives (timed or otherwise)on the 360 outnumber the ones on the PS3 - by quite a margin. As 2007 progresses, that may change, but knowing the PS software year one droughts that hit the PS2 and PSP, that is unlikely to change until possibly 2008. E3 06 was pretty revealing in the lack of exclusive titles coming up for the PS3 for the near future. TGS in the fall hopefully will shed more light on upcoming PS3 software for 07/08.

As far as the 360 being rushed, clearly it wasn't. Plenty of companies have made some serious money off the 360 - Ubisoft, Bethesda, EA, as well as the indie developers on XBLA. And, the 10 million unit headstart by the end of this year is a very significant draw for publishers.

Exlcusives dont mean good games. Right now both the 360 and ps3 dont have anything worth spending half a grand or more on to play. I generally go by the theory 'If theres more then 2 games I would KILL for, then I'll buy the system.' And by kill for I dont mean something fairly generic like Hitman. I'm talking Assasins Creed for one, and possibly that Mech game from Sega for 360. Thats if they turn out good. Reviews can go to hell. They all said GRAW was legendary. Its legendary **** is what it is. Same with Wind Waker. Will wait for people I know to go out and buy the games first and tell me what they think of it AFTER they complete it FULLY. None of this 2hours job.

Again, quality over quantity with those titles.

Now a posting on the blog of Microsoft Games' global marketing team is putting a happier face on Moore's comments and giving an update on the backward-compatibility team's progress. According to the post from team member John Porcaro, the team is testing another update for release in the next few weeks, and "it looks like they're hoping to add at least a dozen titles."

"But rest assured, we're not done yet," Porcaro continues. "We know for a fact that there are lots [emphasis theirs] of people who continue to care about backwards compatibility, including the 'Emulation Ninjas' who are working full time on the updates. And those of us posting on this blog. And, of course, many of you."
Go Go Emulation Ninjas.

Talking

Are those seriously the ones Justin?

I was refering to DBJay when I posted the biased line. If Sony announced this limited of games and then a while down the line were like it's not a top priority, Sony would be cruicified by DB.

Just check out what's actually shipping this fall at sites like Ebgames. I don't consider PS3 to have a better software library available until the games actually ship. I mean what's the point of owning a PS3 in 2006 if the best exclusive games are over a year away? Sony lacks quantity and quality with the PS3 in 2006.

Yeah right. If that makes you sleep better at night. And if Sony blantantly lied about yet another feature of the PS3, it wouldn't be much of a shock at this point.

B/c is, and always shall be, worthless except as a means to save shelf space in the home. My PS1 didn't melt the split second I bought the PS2, likewise the N64 is still functional, as is the Xbox.

It's funny that people think b/c is critical, yet Nintendo did very well not supporting the feature for many years. It's a reverse for them to offer Wii to Gamecube b/c via hardware, but think about it. The software catalogue has been rejected by consumers once before, so now suddenly people will flock to the GC games just because it's on the Wii? Wake me up when that magical event happens.

Yawn.... Yeah we all know how you can tell the difference between a lie and the truth with the articles you love to post, that have been proven to be biased and mostly lies. Especially when one of the news sites burned you once with a slanted article, you still posted yet another article from the same site.

Yeah but ALOT of people do like to sell thier last gen hardware so that they can buy thier new gen stuff with less of a bite out of thier wallet.

Just in the home systems, but the portables have been supporting b/c for the most part for years.

Sony is doing it via HW and Nintendo is too. Thing is MS PROMISED B/C, and then tried to emulate it via software, because it would be cheaper to do so. Then when they got peoples hopes up and had the pitiful launch list of b/c games they back pedal and say nope it's not important to gamers.

Nope but for the people who supported the last gen it is a very nice way to show that they appreciate me as a consumer.

Yeah but at least if the launch games trickle out like they did with MS I can still play my old classic games that I love.

BTW Double posting is a sign of retardedness in forum posters.
