Ah yes. I been following up on this puppy for a long time. Just waiting to hear about Snow Leopard support.

I'm actually getting a mac, it seems the newer macs have boot camp already on them so I will be installing Windows on a partition and playing games off it.

boot camp came as part of the current OS release and works really well

however if you really want to mess about with more than one OS on a single box get a copy of VMware ESX and do it properly with proper hypervisor

Please. My next PC upgrade will be built along the compatibility of this dongle. So I can have a desktop Mac.

This is good for those who bitch about the cost of Mac hardware. No real reason to bitch about that any more. Show Leopard should be pretty cool, and the most expensive version of it is $50.

well got the OS today .. very nice .. main thing of note tbh is that it seems a lot faster, and it also seemed to reduce the OS foot print by about 6gig on my HDD. which is nice .. and for £25 is worth the money alone tbh . heres quite a good look at it if anyone is interested ..

http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2009/08..._snow_leopard/

dongle will be delivered to work sometime next week, where we plan to play around with it in our esx hypervisior with the aim of seeing if i can automate the build of mac osx in my lab ..

if the dongle does what it says on the tin it should all work fine ..virtual osx sitting along side virtual 2008 and virtual OEL

@Reality

quick update ...

i've installed Snow Lep on my mac and the main noticable difference other than the reduced foot print is that it seems a lot faster ..

i also have it running as a VM OS in vmware infrastructure .. (bit of a frig as Apple are not officially supported yet but it works a treat with no performance issues what so ever .) .. was quite interesting deploying a tone of Snow Lep servers all over the place ..

will be giving the dongle a blast next week

I finally installed Snow Leopard on my real Mac and have been pleased so far. I was running 10.4.11 before and needed to upgrade since most new apps only run on 10.5.6 or later (looking at you, Final Cut Studio).

Great news. I'm looking forward to my Snow update but am waiting on a few more apps I use to get support. Other then that I look very forward to hearing about your dongle install.

If anything, I gained a little bit. I think 10.6 is a touch bigger than 10.4.11. Leopard must be GIANT.

ahh .. yeah you will gain a bit .. Snow Lep has been re-coded to optimise Leopard hence the space reduction moving from Leopard to Snow Leopard
