ArmA 2

Well if it isnt a very very interesting little war fps. Think of it like...hmm..Oblivion, where its one huuuge land mass, and you all just get in there and play. You can play against bots, which supposedly have amazing AI, or you can go crazy online. Makes BF2 look poor if you ask me. Check this video its pure lol

Heres a link to a review. They gave it 8/10 which is very good coming from this site.

ArmA is sick if you can get into it, but it's not for everyone not even ur typical FPS gamer. I will say though that the ballistics system in ArmA is the most close to real life system out there. You have to lead people off and account for gravity at long ranges. Makes getting a long range kill that much more rewarding.

Sounds like something I could get into. What kind of online community does it have?

It doesn't sound terribly popular, so the online community is probably pretty friendly...

Popular enough. But like I said it has a single player mode against bots.

Some people have friends they like to play with, or want to play against humans.

Hate to break it to you, but bots are not people as much as you may like to think.
they are

So join the servers with your friends and play. And if a bot is good it stil makes the game fun. Technically every fps game you are playing is with bots. You're just trying to get to the end of the level. This is just one huge level. I actually played the first Battlefield game just against bots and trying to get the missions done. It really improved my skill.

This looks great, having just put together a new system, I might have to check this out at somepoint...when we get a little bit more moneys, anyway.

I've played a lot of online FPS games, but I'm more and more getting used to singleplayer games. It lets me get a little bit more immersed and that sort of thing. And while I've never been a big fan of the realistic ballistics system, I do think it'd make it a very rewarding experience as a whole.

In the event that it's a steam game, as seems likely, I'll probably pick it up there.

Right now it's pretty unoptimized, but very cool. It's like arma 1 except easier to get into. So far the campaign missions have been fun. Haven't tried online yet. I wouldn't get it right now though, unless you really want it then try the demo to make sure it runs ok on ur pc.
