Uninstall Nero and reinstall it to get another grace period maybe? I dunno, I've never tried that.

Speaking of Nero, does anyone know how to burn proper MP3 CDs using this program? I hate the user interface of this thing. Would it be easier to network the MP3s to my Mac and use Toast?

You can uninstall and reinstall and get the time again IF you want. I wouldnt recommend doing that unless you really know what you are doing since it involves going through all the messy parts of Windows and you could screw Windows up and have to reinstall.

Your best bet for the moment is to find a crack or patch for the demo until you get the full version. There is freeware CD burning software on the net (I dont know about its quality though), if you want to burn a data CD, just use windows' burner. You could always try Windows Media player for Audio CD's too, though I dont know whether WMP actually burns Music CD's or just rips the tracks.

I use Nero 6 though I prefer Nero 5.5's interface.

Joe: What exactly is a MP3 CD? Is ot just a data CD with MP3's on it? Or has it got its own format like Audio CD, Video CD's etc. I have never heard of one.

I think my version is the last version of 5 that they release (5.56 or something). I can't check because I'm on the Mac now.

Many CD players can play MP3 CDs nowadays. They are just MP3 files and you can put a ton of them on a single CD. But I'm not sure if it is just a data CD or if it has to be specially formatted as an "MP3 CD".

well, I found some freeware program, and I burnt a cd. But now I need to know how to get the info from the cd to where I want it, back the way it was. (its my fist burn )

So basically, say I burnt some text in the notepad, how do I take that from the cd and put it back into the computer in notepad?

OK. So you have your notepad file on the CD.

Say you want to return it back to the C:/ drive.

Well you can copy the file from the CD and paste it in the C:/ drive

You can open the notepad file from the disc and save it to the C:/ drive

You can just drag the file from the CD onto the C:/ drive and that will automatically copy and paste it.

The only thing is that you cant cut and paste since you cant remove data off of a CD once its burnt on.

Is that what you were after?

hehe all you just said right there I know how to do. The problem was my cd-rw. You see, I bought if off of ebay for $15 oem. So it had no software or anything with it. It can burn cd's fine and play games and programs, but for some reason it wont open up the info from a burned cd. So I installed my old cd-rom and the stuff I burnet showed up when i put the cd in it. Thanks for the help though.
