More information (interview) on Stardock's publishing plans.

FiringSquad: What sorts of games is Stardock Entertainment looking to publish?

Brad Wardell: Initially we are looking to stay in the strategy-game market. But we are also looking to expand into role-playing, as well, since we feel that?s another market that?like strategy?hasn?t received a lot of attention from publishers and developers in recent years (outside MMOs which are a totally different thing).
This is why I love them. They're a 'gamers' developer. Not just making games that wil sell to the braindead masses. And with their new online setup, they can do this and actually make money. Cant wait till majority of the publishers die out or become beggars, trying hard to get any game licensed to them.

Hopefully they do for TBS what Black Isle Studios did for RPGs (for a short while, anyway), but on a broader scope (being a publisher and all).

I hope they look at online only distributed games (lower budget) and retail (higher budget) separatly so they can help both indie developers and small, established developers.
