How to make FireFox 2x faster

Well, I really couldnt find a place to put this but I thought it'd be helpful

1.Go to about:config on the URL

2.Find "network.http.pipelining" then double click it to "true"

3.Find "network.http.proxy.pipelining" then double click it to "true"

4.Make it so "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once. Default is 4

5.Right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.

Done

Feedbacks please. It really works too =)

Hey. Does anyone have a firefox shell that basically does the same things as avant browser? I would like to use firefox, but I don't wanna lose tab windows, built in search/highlight/find and built in adblocking.

I really like Avant Browser, but it's just a shell.

Tab windows? Adblocking? Firefox has that. What do you mean? Well atleast the current version does. It's got Tabs... Skins... Built in Ad blocking. Try it. I was considering Opera but I like mozilla better. I hate IE. Whenever I go on it. Theres all these Adwares when I scan it.

Heh, it's funny, because you basically just described firefox.

And this method isn't really reccomended. It'd work okay for the user, but the servers get hit hard. If each person was suddenly 30 (though I think firefox caps it at 10), it'd be hell. The last step is perfectly fine to do, it's just the rest is evil.

Do not use IE. It's got a lot of holes in it. Use Firefox but when you use Firefox there are some things that arent viewible for that browser but that rarely happens.. It's not slow for me. Actually it's faster than IE when I use it. Well there isnt much to say about Firefox except I think it's great. Built in adblocker, Tabs... Safer than IE

Thanks. Hardware. It works right? Well it works much much better if you have broadband. So sorry modem users =( To change it back to default... Just look at my post and work backwards. XD

There are still some options that Firefox doesn't readily have that Avant browser does, but...It seems better. I'll try it for a while.

Does anyone know how to import IE favorites into Firefox?

Damn, sorry. I cant remember how I did it but when I first installed Firefox I remember importing my IE favorites on it. Darn

EDIT: Oh nevermind. Theres a "IE File > Export option." Found it on Google. I think you can export the bookmarks that way?

Hehe, well I hope you like it SFS =P

LOL. 2 seconds after I posted that, I noticed the "File -> Import" feature.

Dur.

Alright, new quesiton. Does anyone know how I can get a few more items on my toolbar? One of the things I liked about Avant browser was that it's toolbars were really involved, and had by far the best search toolbar of all time.

Yep same here Hardware. It's amazing. When I use to use IE I'd find over 100 adwares for it.
