The final boss in Animal Crossing (either version) is a breeze. No strategy guide needed. Even Icarus could beat him on his own!

right... like i said there is nothing like owning the original. and special additions on release are cool, and i also agree that re-releasing a game with new content is lame... so is the "greatest hits" box art.

Oh yeah. Need to purchase that one as well.

"Greatest Hits" box art (or "Players Choice" or whatever) sucks ass! How dare they make special boxes! Just lower the price! What do they hope to gain by changing the boxes to make them look super-lame? if you must have them color-coded, put a special, blue or yellow stripe on the shrinkwrap!

Strategy guides are not for pussies. Whenever I'm going to play through a loooong game, such as Dragon Quest VIII, I'll use it to locate hidden stuff which I might have otherwise missed. I don't feel like playing through a 100 hour game, then finding out I missed out on certain things. Also, I have strategy guides for fighting games just for the artwork. You are simply wrong in your generalization of people who purchase strategy guides. They're nonessential things which are there to provide additional info if you care to use it. But then I suppose you'll see what I mean when I send you a videotape featuring my gaming prowess.

That's what GameFAQs is for, sans artwork.

they probably do it because they absolutely must show you that it is indeed a greatest hits or player's choice!!

But what about games like Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution which come EXCLUSIVELY in GREATEST HITS packaging? Pisses me off. Fortunately my dad purchased that game for me one Christmas from EB, and since EB opens their games, takes them home overnight and brings them back it somehow wound up in a regular Virtua Fighter 4 case. So I have a regular VF4 case with VF4: Evolution inside (with the red banner across the disc). My dad's screw up by shopping at EB (I told him not to do that again) made my pain almost bearable. Almost.

When I say something, you must agree. Otherwise, I'll have you thrown off to the hell where people are skinned alive! It's that simple!

What are your thoughts on people who buy a new game turn it on and go directly to the options menu and put the game difficulty to easy?

I think they should try it on Normal first. Unless there are multiple endings for each difficulty level.
