Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter

You all know the console version. Now heres the REAL version!

Quote:
[Peter] Apart from the most obvious - reconfigurable controls and higher resolutions - how will Grin make sure that Ghost Recon 3 won't be another Playstation 2-conversion running on modern PC hardware?

[+Ulf] First off, content art, sound, technology and gameplay is entirely unique for the PC version. The entire PC versioni made exclusively for the PC, and stand alone from the console versions in terms of gameplay. I'll go a bit further on this:

The tactical layer of the PC game is much more advanced than the console approach. We have a realtime 3d view of the battle field where you as a squad leader can see the action and plan it real time.

This to be able to set up the best tactical apparoch as the combat and pre combat changes.

Adding to this we have individual control of 3 team mates and other support troops. This to design complext flanking and attacking patterins both on the fly and through your tactical interface.

It is really a tactical sim as you never have seen before on any format.

Next we have a exclusivly designed control on the PC that makes the player immersed in the body of Captain M. We are able to control him with great accuracy for both stealth, position in in covers and shooting positions.

This is what we call the advanced leaning system which allows 8 way leaing, sliding and even diving into cover.

R6 and the GR series has been going downhill for a while now. Ubisoft is stretching themselves too thin.

I have to agree with Decado and Nindalf. R6 and GR series are down the drain. The graphic looks alright but nothing special. Of course I can't say GR3 sucks until I play it. But hopefully Ubisoft and RedStorm do a better job with their AI.. jeez those AI are retarded.

I'm not into any of the Tom Clancy games really (apart from a bit of Splinter Cell now and again) and this game dosen't really want to make me change my mind. But I have seen an in game video of it as my mate had a DVD come free with a magazine. And one thing that I saw which did impress me was the real time in-game screen. It was like a screen in the screen and it showed what other squads were doing, gave you mission updates from HQ and showed what your squad members could see.
(BTW the DVD I saw was of the 360 version, and that article makes the PC version sound much better.......... but I've still not got much interest in it. )

The first R6 was great, as was Rouge spear, but after that, the series has turned pretty average. I loved planning the missions (which were great) and then carrying them out, but that seems to have spoiled a bit in more recent carnations.

Well big reason its become so average is because of the heavy console influence. With luck they lift their game. I'm no big Tom Clancy fan and I generally dont bother with his games. I found SWAT 4 to be heads and shoulders above them. But if they lift their game then it could turn out to be good.

Btw, if you get high textures running while playing multiplayer, you better hope you have a super systems to handle it. Generally people lower their details to medium or low when playing online.

Yeah, the video did look rather pretty and so do these 360 screenshots. And that little screen in the top left-hand corner is the one I was talking about - impressive!
