Maybe that's why she never smiles. Poor her.

Very large pic, but very cool. List of the best DOS games. You might need to zoom in to see it better.

Now thats an amazing list. Some of the best games ever made. I'm so glad I didnt grow up on the NES side of gaming. I played some of the japanese consoles at friends places, but the DOS stuff, thats where I belonged.

LOL, Bodokan. If that's considered one of the best, I'm eternally thankful I didn't grow up with such dull and dusty games.

Amazing find! Who in this day and age would have the courage to name their game 'I have No Mouth, And I Must Scream'? Nobody.

Let's crowd-fund the creation of our own MagicBox software. Further, let's make it all exclusively for vintage consoles and computers like NES, Genesis, TG16 and C64/128. Let's throw out all the rules. I can contribute ideas, concept art, game design, and music/audio. I say we do it.

Well, I haven't played Bodokan (or is that Budokan? *shrugs*) and therefore cannot comment.

Let's all be nice. How about a game of Magic Carpet for C64?

(10 minutes later...)

There, feel better? I knew you would.

(And yeah, I'm up to the task of helping create original software alongside the MB community.)

I was looking at that list, and there are so many games I wish I was born in the late 70's to know what most of those games were. A lot of them I only heard of, but the only games that I have ever played that are on that list are Doom 1 & 2. I also saw System Shock, which is a game I always wanted to play when one of my friends told me was sort of like Bioshock. Is he right Northeast Monk? I only saw a short playthrough of part 2, and it looks interesting. I just recently tried looking for it on Amazon.com, but they are way out of my league to buy.

Irrational is comprised of ex-System Shock developers, and Bioshock's biggest influence was System Shock, yeah. It also inspired Deus Ex and probably a lot more, pretty much every game owes itself to System Shock, it was a godly game.

javi, you don't need to be born in the 70's in order to enjoy the classics. But even if they're budget-prohibitive or otherwise inaccessible, you can probably watch most of them being played on YouTube.
