Transformers!!!!!!!! (original)
GI Joe!!!!!!! Voltron!!!!!! Well maybe those are not Anime in the strictest sense, but they kicked the hell outta He-Man and Bravestarr! Escaflowne was pretty cool, but the main girl looked like a guy. I didn't not enjoy that aspect of it. |

anime
Hi there! I would have to agree that Escaflawne is a good anime serious it's one of my favourites of all the anime out there. I also think the Gundam serious are pure amazemen how everything is put together, and all the characters that are introduced. Everyone has their favourites when it comes to anime.

I use to be into anime quite a bit, but since have grown to have less and less interest in it, though I don't let it keep me from good movies or series, especailly Miyazaki's works.
I would agree that GI-Joe, Transformers, and Voltron all kick ass. However I think for the most part a lot of that can't really be called anime. Transformers was an American concept that was partnered with Japanese studios, as was GI-Joe. I'm not sure about Voltron however. The styles are similar due to artist and design staff, but the creation and development isn't really Japanese. Transformers was later sold off completely to the Japanese partner if I recall, and they are the ones that continue to make the ones that are shown today (that suck bad). The only anime that has managed to hold my interest from the start and maintain that interest even into recent releases has been Macross. There are very few themes in current anime that I cannot find presented in the Macross series at one point. It literally has it all in my opinion, as a result Macross is the single greatest anime series to me. Keep in mind that I include Macross Plus and various others into the Macross series, not just the first one, which is why I say I find nearly any theme presented in current animes also present in Macross at some point. Fixed: Typo "of" to "or"

Naruto is ok, but it lost it's charm with me. The show is very slow paced, they have a lot of useless filler and it's starting to make dbz look good. I don't have a specific favorite but I do have a couple that I really like:
One Piece -> IMO I think this one is better than Naruto. Hajime no Ippo Escaflowne Macross (everything except 2) Cowboy Bebop |

I looked and didn't see any KoF anime. I know that there's a Fatal Fury anime though.

3x3 eyes a classic and what got me into anime.
Naruto is getting boring and every eps(around 25mins) now shows you 5mins of recaps(same reused animation from previous eps), about 4 mins intro-endtro, and the same pointless dialouges, recaps of what happened in the previous eps... I`m already done with the Naruto anime thank god for the manga. Anyway go watch midori no hibi its unique

EDIT: And just b/c the intro is made in anime like KOF 98, there is no such Rival Schools or Guilty Gear anime. There are however series for Power Stone, Street Fighter, Virtua Fighter, and Samurai Shodown and Art of Fighting oavs. Don't bother with those 2 however, the Fatal Fury triology is the best from SNK having a game licensed anime series. I own that triology myself and it is real awesome if you're big into the FF characters. Last edited by Robo Halloween; 05-20-2004 at 03:09 PM. |

Of the ones I've seen, Berserk has to be the best.
