my hell now its my ethernet connection

dammit another problem...

u know down in the right corner it shows like the wireless connection and the ethernet connection, well the wireless connection shows up when I start my pc, thats how im online right now with wireless.

but being connected with ethernet is far faster than wireless which is what I usually use

but wth for some reason the damned thing wont show up at the bottom right hand corner, I plug in my ethernet cable and it doesnt register, it wont connect through ethernet. I go into the "my network places" and I go to "view network connections" and I think its called LAN right? well that little Icon isnt even there, its just the wireless Icon there.

im stumped here

edit:

I updated ZONEALARM(firewall) today and thats when the problem started, so I turned it off and restated and now "my local area connection" is showing up, and im able to connect with ethernet

thats odd that my firewall would disable it, just odd

Sounds strange. Thankfully I dont use free stuff and my lovely pc-cillin virus scanner/firewall is configured like a charm! Just check the settings for zone alarm. Its probably set to ultra extreme no data allowed through setting.

And that's the end of that chapter.

Well technically it hasn't been officially released for x86 based machines, but there are websites out there floating around where you can download it . . . I have a real PPC based Mac though, and the x86 versions of OS X have problems with 'em.
