Awesome Firefox plugin

Sup,

Came across this excellent plugin and figured I'd share:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2390

Lets you download online vids (youtube etc) with zero effort:

- Let the video load completely
- Press the icon in the lower right corner of the browser
- Click download.
- Will download (pretty much instantly) as "get_video".
- Rename to anything.flv and voila.

I used to use vixxy.net but now its so overloaded most of the time thats its just way to frustrating.

Well, diavle, how do you play the videos you download? Because every time i try to open just the flv file it opens flash player 8, but doesn't play anything, which is why i had to convert the movies each time.

Just right click > Open With > choose whatever player besides the Macromedia player

My primary player is the GOM Player and Media Player Classic is my secondary, all the files work perfectly on them without any conversion.

You might also be able to download a dedicated FLV player. Or try dragging the file to the Firefox icon to open it right in the browser. Might be full screen, though. And if it is, it's gonna look really, really bad.

I just download them in IE just by going to internet options and going to view files that IE downloads from each page and just copy it over to my desktop

my brother uses it to download vids on youtube and converts them for his IPOD... he uses Videora Ipod Converter, it does the job.

I just use the youtubex site to save the videos. It converts them to .avi when it saves.
