I don't know Alucard, the guys at RPGFan like it a lot, and I trust their opinion on RPGs (for the most part)

Yup i do aswell. I saw several reviews and at least this one is supposed to have some good things about it.

I still dont understand why they gave FFXIII such a high grade though (was around the 80%). No one wanted to stick up and tell square: look, you messed up big time with this one and this isnt worth a decent grade. The thing isnt even worth a 60%... and dispite everyone saying how the graphics are so good in it... i played it in HD and its nowhere near Mass Effect 2 or Fallout 3. It was all corridors aswell. I lol'ed while playing and the characters going "such a pretty view" when all there was there was a 2D pannel with a view that wasnt impressive at all.

Seriously... the FFXIII developers fecked around waaay too much and thought they could get away with just about anything. For a game that just had corridors, they couldve done ALOT more.

At least I don't quit half the games I get halfway through.
nohing wrong with quiting shit 1/2 way .. whats worse it battling through shit for the sack of it. personally i'd rather do something else more fun with my time than playing shit to the end, each to their own i guess ...

but yeah what is worse than buying sht to play is buying shit never to play and to just to keep on a shelf. collecting is great, but collecting any old bit of shit just because its a game ? i just don't get it

Well to be fair it's not really even a SquareEnix game there only the publisher. You can defenitely see some of Cavia's other games in Nier. The game looks and feels alot like Drakengard and Bullet Witch.

I haven't played it much yet but I had to help my friend with the mandatory fishing bit the game didn't explain it very well.

What I'm saying is I'm willing to try it out based on the reviews I've seen from people who like RPGs rather than just write it off because it has Square-Enix on the label.

I'm sort of with you on that. I play, or intend to play, most games I buy but if I'm not enjoying the game after an hour or so I simply move on. There's way to many games out there to continue playing a piece of trash to the end.

I can't knock people for completing them though. My one brother is a completionist and once he starts a game, will not move on until he beats it, no matter how awful the game is.

I'm probably the most guilty of this on this forum. What's not to get? What makes this hobby any different than people who collect comics, stamps, coins, trading cards, action figures etc? If someone wants a entire set of Magic cards, they buy all the shit ones too. I look at games in that same way.
