From PWInsider:

*BIG Kurt Angle News: Kurt is going to be taking some time off. It is NOT injury related, it could be something personal. It could be (this is speculation, not fact, that Angle may not be as happy in ECW as he thought he would be--he arrived at the ECW show in Philly at the last minute and has been far less social backstage than he has been in the past on other brands. Angle will be gone likely for several months after he takes his leave of absence.

*Paul Heyman is officially off the main booking of ECW. Heyman had a little bit of say in the first match and last match of this week's show, but that was it. Vince & Kevin Dunn booked the middle portion of the show, and informed Heyman prior to the show Dunn would head the booking team for ECW now, Heyman will now be the head writer.

*Gunner Scott is being sent back to OVW. Management doesn't feel he has gotten over enough with the fans. Look for his last appearance in a while to happen this week on Smackdown.

*WWE has decided to move away from making ECW an "alternative" product and more of third WWE brand. In other words, expect more backstage segments and RAW-esque storylines.

*Sabu's push won't be affected by any of this. WWE management is very high on Sabu based on his performance since joining the company.

*People Heyman were interested in bringing (CM Punk) *may* not be brought in with quite the push they were going to have originally.

*Heyman will continue to come up with ideas for new characters, as longs as fit more of a WWE style mold.

*Tommy Dreamer does not have any booking/creative control at the moment over the product.

*All the ECW originals you saw on the show last night were the only ones brought to the show. London/Kendrick were not brought up yesterday either. WWE had nothing for these people to do and have a different budget to juggle with the combined ECW/Smackdown rosters on the same show.

*Smackdown had some random drug testing at their house show last Saturday (a lot of wrestlers didn't expectto be tested at house shows). I agree with PWinsider.com that this is a good thing, as now wrestlers really will have to not abuse substances because testing can happen anytime anywhere.

*Testing was also done for several wrestlers prior to Vengeance.

Look like bringing ECW back was a bad idea after all.

This is probably the best Eddie Tribute.

R.I.P. Eddie

Shows him facing Benoit, RVD, winning the World title against Brock Lesnar and others as well as some funny skits too. Very well done. It's a little over 19 minutes.

WWE/ECW News: RVD and Sabu Cited on Drug Charges

WWE/ECW News: RVD and Sabu Cited on Drug Charges
Posted by Larry Csonka on 07.03.2006

Someone misplaced their copy of the Wellness Plan.

In a story reported by The Ironton Tribune today, Rob Van Dam and Sabu were stopped Sunday night by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and cited for drug possession.

Troopers found RVD in possession of 18 grams of marijuana and five Vicodin, while Sabu was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and also had nine pills that were not immediately identifiable, but were known to be controlled substances. They were both cited and then posted bond.

They are scheduled to appear at 10 a.m. Thursday in Ironton Municipal Court. No word on what, if any, punishment will be served up by WWE.

Flair regrets not wrestling Down Under

Legendary wrestler Ric "The Nature Boy" Flair has one regret - he never climbed into a ring in Australia in wrestling's heyday.
It's nearly four decades ago, but the American, 16 times world champion, wishes he'd ventured down under when local star Mario Milano was big in the 1960s and 1970s.
Back then, Australia was a hotbed of big name US stars - the kind who wanted to make lots of money in a short time.
"When I broke in, (Australia) was the place to be," said Flair who debuted in 1972.
"If you could come here and wrestle for (promoter) Jim Barnett, it was a great opportunity.
"I never did, but some of the guys who were over here, like Buddy Austin, Killer Carl Cox, Wahoo McDaniel, said it was a great place to live for a short period of time.
"And there was a lot of money to be made."
These days, 57-year-old Flair is still active in the ring and wrestles for the pre-eminent World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).
WWE will be touring Australia next month, the organisation's fifth trip here in four years - an acknowledgment of the ever-growing popularity of pro wrestling in Australia.
WWE's Raw and Smackdown shows are consistently among the top-rated programs on pay television, and they sell out arenas across the country.
Flair says because Australian followers see their heroes less than the US-based fans, the crowds here are madly keen.
And there's just as much interest in the women wrestlers these days.
Six-time WWE women's champion Trish Stratus, a Canadian native, is adamant their women - known in wrestling as divas - are more than just eye candy.
"If you can hold your own, then you're set," the 30-year-old said.
"Thankfully the (wrestlers) backstage look at me as kind of one of the guys, and we're all one big family, and there's no real gender boundary at all.
"It is quite flattering to have gotten the women to the point where the fans have the same interest in our stuff as well as the men's, whereas before ... they didn't care to see them wrestle."
WWE will be at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on August 3, Sydney's Acer Arena on August 4 and the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on August 5.

Sabu and RVD are being punished for being caught smoking pot. RVD just lost both belts (WWE championship to Edge; ECW championship to Big Show), and they forced Sabu to talk (he'd only spoken once or twice before ["Taz, get out here!"] [Shoot interview]), and to make matters even worse, Test is there. Vince has just ruined ECW. In fact, I'm not calling it ECW because it isn't. I'll just go watch RoH instead.

Screw Vince for ruining everything and screw "Sports Entertainment."

WWE News: Further update regarding HBK's opinion of DeGeneration X

Prior to last week, Shawn Michaels had been relatively quiet with his dislike for the DeGeneration X angle.

Although he, as a born-again Christian, was hardly thrilled with the DX antics, he had yet to make a public complaint due to fear of coming across as "difficult."

He was, however, extremely set off by the "oral sex scene" that took place on Monday's RAW, and asked for a meeting with Vince McMahon about DX's direction. Sources are not yet aware of the status of that meeting.

Shawn Michaels will get knee surgery following the culmination of the DX angle, which was largely designed to boost summer ratings while helping HHH transition to babyface.
-------------------------------------------------------
The original WWE RAW main-event, prior to the RVD-Sabu situation, was to be RVD & Sabu vs. Cena & Flair vs. Edge & Foley.
--------------------------------------------------------
The ironic note for today comes from the WWE's European version of Shopzone, where they are selling a t-shirt of Rob Van Dam with the slogan "No one gets higher". The company may want to rethink that particular product in light of what has recently gone down with Van Dam & Sabu.
-----------------------------------------------------
Also a special appearance by Huk Hogan & his daughter Brooke at SNME.
BTW-Does anyone on here like Hogan?

Just HHH and Shawn Michaels. They're basically doing a weekly skits to antagonize Vince.

Like that's anything new. It's always been enemies one day friends the next or friends then enemies in wrestling. Always been that way.

Uhhh, yeah so I decided to watch Raw tonight. I'm considering not watching wrestling again. Absolutely retarded. I know to many wrestling is retarded anyway, to me it can be sometimes entertaining. Tonight was total garbage. Worst Raw I think I've ever seen.
