City of Villains collectors edition

Well its FINALLY out and saw it at the store. Since my PC is still stuffed I really cant buy it to play it yet. But Pantymon was with me and he grabbed it. The collectors box is only about $10 more, and the game comes on a DVD instead of CDs. But theres some cool stuff in it..

* The Art of City of Heroes and City of Villains Book
* 14 day free trial City of Heroes
* 14 day free trial Lineage II
* City of Heroes Trading Card Pack - 22 individual cards
* City of Heroes LIMITED EDITION Trading Card individually wrapped
* Web of Arachnos - NOVEL flyer from CDS Books
* 1 EACH Exclusive City of Heroes/City of Villains HeroClix:
o Positron
o Manitcore
o Ghost Widow
o Black Scorpion
o Statesman with cape
o Captain Mako
* LIMITED EDITION City of Villains HeroClix
o Lord Recluse
* City of Heroes/City of Villains HeroClix Game Map
* Full color 144 page manual
* Thirty days Free game play
* Quick reference guide

Its definately the best special pack I've seen come out, though I was a bit dissapointed the map wasnt made out of cloth. The 'The Art of City of Heroes and City of Villains Book' is really good quality too. None of this flimsy thin paper crap. Some great art inside it too and the book is larger then expected. Its just a brilliant pack. I plan to buy it soon even though I cant play it for a while. But must pay off my pc upgrade..killing me. The heroclix listed are little toy figures. Quite spiffy!

Go play Sunshine and leave computers to people who can handle games with depth.

That's classic.

Alucard, that's definitely some package. How come PC gamers get all the good stuff? I remember those awesome Ultima packages, and some import stuff had snazzy packaging (e.g. Cotton 2). It would've been great had they included a Plasma Sword with every copy of Strider.

Because PC devs dont need to pay royalties to PC maker. Its open source so more money comes back to them. With consoles you pay a fee to either MS, Sony or Nintendo. So theres a larger income for pc devs and they like to do their bit for the gamers. And this game is great. I'll be playing it in a month or two once I finish off some other games. PC has flooded me with class games this month. ITs obscene.

You're pretending like I don't play PC games. This one just looks stupid.

City of Heros and Villans give me the feel of goofy super heros like the Justice Freinds (anyone know what that is?)

Men in tights, huge pecs...... Just not my thing.

Well on that logic I guess everything made by nintendo is just as crap. A stupid fat pink floating blob. A dumb fat plumber. A dinosaur. Yep, everything looks stupid so it must be stupid.

Who said you had to play someone with rippling muscles? You can have a lean man wearing a business suit. Or a girl in a trenchcoat. Or someone whos half or mostly robot. The customization in this game is more then you could even imagine. Its bloody huge.

I'm thinking about trying this one once I get my Wookiee to Jedi Knight and sell my account.

Just a couple or so screens to give you an idea of some of the custom characters you can create.

You'll be hard pressed to find too many characters that look the same. Except the people who try to make their characters look like Marvel or DC characters. You'll spend a good hour or so just on what your character looks like. And powers, well you'll be another hour messing with those.

All those pics look pretty good, execpt for that last one. Just something about that last one defines part of the reason i dont have much desire to play it. I really cant pinpoint what it is though

Its the guy in the middle that you're twitching over. I only put that one so you could see more examples. Huge power armour guys, ninja dudes, Raiden wannabe's, and other freaks. There are HEAPS of things you can do.
