Heaven and Earth shatering at Capcom; Mikami leaves company

Heaven and Earth are shatering at Capcom it seems...
The creator of RE series is set to leave capcom after RE4 completion has is most of the team behind it. The news of RE4 port for PS2 is exposed has a decision made by shareholders an not the administration. Developers unsatisfied.
All of it in this link http://www.cube-europe.com/news.php?nid=7179

or here:

"First off, the breaking of exclusivity in this case was not because of user demand, but a plan to boost the stock price, as some already understood, but it seems like there has been confrontation between the developers and the management who are following shareholders' instructions. Capcom nowadays is different to when Okamoto worked there, the development team's voice seems weaker than before. It also looks like a lot of skilled staff will leave the company after the GC version of 4 is finished. But the people behind this rebellion are the developers, and they ask that you don't blame Mikami or Kobayashi. The GC version of 4 is the last one that Mikami will be involved in, the PS2 version will be passed on to someone else. People who used to work at Capcom are also shocked by this news."

Fair enough, if he's not happy it's for the best people leave SquareEnix they survive the same applies here. Hopefully he'll set up his own company and we'll have double the quality games.

well said! The situation at Capcom is looking bad though. Workers leaving unhappy, shareholders trying to up the stock value, property beeing sold to Capcom of America (street fighter)... Dare i predict a hostile takeover? or a good old sale? a merger? greedy shareholders trying to make their best while abondoning ship?

feels like SEGA all over again...

Now whats the point of mergers when the 'greatest minds' woking in the company want to leave? Also, who will be in charge of DMC3? This doesn't mean the end of the company though, Nintendo didn't just die when Sotaru Iwata, took over after Yamauchi left. The original creater of Kirby sure as hell didn't hurt Nintendo by leaving, the gaming industry is still a business and although these folks are legendary, that doesn't mean the end.

well capcom is screwed. They lost a great asset to the company. How much longer before capcom goes under?

Nobody said that he'd work for Nintendo, the article also said that it wasn't his decision, but his team mates. So no, Vert is not better than Jesus, havent you noticed that it's a lot more quiet today?

It seems like lately over the past couple of years a lot of high profile developers have started to leave their companies. I am surprised its Mikami and there will no doubt be a change but I wouldn't say its the end of Capcom.

Still it does make sense that they would leave, if the company is no longer trusting your decisions on what type of game you want to make and is basically telling you what to do, staying around to is probably not going to be an option. Especially after all the hits that Capcom has seen, no longer trusting their developers and just trying to go for the quick buck is just stupid.

Well if you show me that verts birth was prophesied about thousands of years in advanced and that his life was perfect and that he was crucified and rose from the grave then i will believe he is better then jesus. Untill then, horrible comparison.

Can't say I care.

There are only a couple of teams that develop games for Capcom that I like and his isn't one of them.

I think several people will disagree with you on that one. He did make DMC and DMC3, I also think he did Dino Crisis 1-3, which except for 3, they all sucked. I'd review an RE game, but I sold both my RE and RE3 games for ps1 a long time ago, and they suck too. So no, aside from the very anticipated RE4 and DMC3, I doubt that I'll miss Shinji Mikami or his team either.

Your IPs used:

24.14.144.20
68.20.16.138
69.209.57.108

All of which are shared with Vert1. It's also obvious that your just here to troll. Goodbye. No multiple IPs at Magicbox!
