Xenosaga collection progressed to the remasters plan, but failed in market analysis

This is just Bandai Namco side, what about Square enix? Do they even plan to remake/remaster Xenogears?

Katsuhiro Harada confirms a collection is not in the works.

Bandai Namco original IP game projects general manager Katsuhiro Harada has confirmed that a Xenosaga remaster was considered, but shot down by the company.

“[A Xenosaga collection] actually progressed to the remasters plan, but failed in a profitable market analysis,” Harada said in a tweet. “Sorry guys, This plan will be difficult to resurface…”

Xenosaga Episode I first launched for PlayStation 2 in February 2002, followed by Xenosaga Episode II in June 2004 and Xenosaga Episode III in July 2006.

Xenogears is by far a superior game to Xenosaga.

But knowing the japanese, the only chance for a remake to happen is to have a colaboration between Square and Nintendo (monolith soft).
Japanese typically don't make remakes unless some of the original staff comes back.
