Magic Box Banner Contest

Alrigt, those of you who love to work with Photoshop, this is a contest for you. The powers that be have made a decree: We want a new banner for the Magic Box website. So crack them knuckles and design a banner that would be seen by everyone visiting the Magic Box.

There are a few restrictions: The image width must be 780 pixels in width, height is of no specific size, but try not to make it too large. The banner must feature characters associated from a broad selection of characters. The banner must have the Magic Box logo. The banner must be in .jpg format.

If you have any questions, post them here. Otherwise, get cracking. Post as many designs as you wish, there is no limit to the number of submissions you wish to submit. The deadline for submissions is July 1, 2004 at 12:01am. After that, the thread will be locked and the judging will commence.

The prize is cleaning out Alucard's old Mod desk. None of us wanna clean it.

Just kidding. There is no prize, except having your ego stroked by knowing that millions of people are seeing your work. The prize is bragging rights.

But if I'm REALLY impressed, I guess I'll loan you NiN's soul for a week or two.

I sent Admin a PM and he hasn't replied yet, but I need a good version of the MagicBox logo. Stealing it from another banner would only result in generation loss.

Also, is this for the top of the forums, the top of the front page, or both? The size restrictions also seem very vague. "It must be 780 pixels in length, but width is of no specific size". Huh? Do you mean "Height" instead of "Width"?

This is for the top of the front page. (I made that mistake too! ;) ) And I'll ask admin if he has one, as I agree it would create generation loss.

And yes, I meant height. My bad. I must stop trying to think at 5 in the morning or whatever ungodly hour I post.

I was able to recreate the MagicBox logo in vector form so I can scale/reduce it as much as I want with NO LOSS. However I don't seem to have the MAGICBOX font.

You have artistic liberty with the Magic Box logo. Feel free to be creative with how you want the logo to look. You don't need to follow the same theme as the last logo. I added this to the topic post, and I will post them there (as well as creating a new post) about updates so you don't have to search them out. They will always be on the topic post.

Damn! And I finally was able to aqcuire the font and assemble a perfect Magic Box logo! Although my "Magic Box" text isn't as teeny tiny as the current logo. I think the name Mag.... yeah I'll just stop right there so no one else tries to steal my ideas!

You did really good getting those characters to look so good on that banner. Every last one seems to be smoothed on all edges.
