well I wonder for the 8800GT requires what for it's requirements.

maybe it uses less power, hopefully only like 2 and not over 3.

but if it uses 4 also, I will wait then.

So to run Quad SLI of this you would need at least 3 power supplies?

I don't think it's possible yet to do something like that.

the biggest power supply I've seen is a 1000 watt.

But we will have to wait and see the actual requirements first before jumping to conclusions.

Not true, the 7950GX cards are build with two processors in one card. Essentially by having two of them you are running QuadSLI, yeah, you need a pretty high end power supply, but one is enough. Some people have two, one for their video cards, one for everything else. SLI still gives a lot of games issues, and in many cases only runs marginally better than a single card would.

So to have dual 8800GTX cards I would need a 800watts PSU just for them exclusively. Thats kinda sad. That be $1000 in its self.

You will never end up having 2 of these cards hooked up at the same time so dont stress over it. And there will be ones that are slightly less powerful then these cards which take less power. In a couple weeks we should know exactly how powerful these things really are and how much power you can get by on to use them.

This card will go all the way in my Harddrive bay (My Case is Tsunami Dream by Thermaltake) but I don't see myself getting 2 of these. Waste of money. I bet there going to be like 400 bucks.

I'll wait to see what ATI is up too.

Found this a month ago on the rumored watts needed for the Nvidia G80 and ATI R600:
Quote:
Japan's PC Watch has reported that the forthcoming G80 from nVidia may consume up to 175 watts, while ATI's R600 could demand an unprecedented 200 watts to produce its eye-candy.

Eeesh. Yeh I'll be sitting out the first round of cards at least. I'll wait probably 2 years since I did just buy this card 4 months about. Hopefully they'll either have less power hungry cards or have a cord that can be plugged straight into a wall socket.

2 years? You might have to buy way sooner then that if they start releasing games that dont have DX9 driver options in them. Besides, graphics is pretty. Must get card next year sometime. Just watching the Crysis gameplay clip is more then enough. Gotta get it oggta gotta.
