There are many Doujin (Independant Japanese games) games that are very fun to play. Even though it was made in 2000, Alice Nyo is among my favorite games of all time. Its a Strategy/Puzzle RPG that is simple yet boosts a fantastic soundtrack. Another great Touhou title which released last year is Mystical Chains, a 2D platformer where you play as a duo of witches. Here are videos of the first and fourth Chapter boss fights:
I expect to see more Doujin both on Steam and the PSN. In fact, Sony recently made a deal with Rockin' Android, which makes English ports of some games including the Gundemonium Collection which contains 3 titles in the series.

I'm really happy to see Recettear on Steam. Hopefully more Japanese games follow. I'll definitely buy it, but probably not till the holiday sale.
