Nintendo still wants a longer console lifecycle and 'everyone' to own one
I don't know if the quality of the Switch can last that long, especially the battery cannot be swapped out easily, also those joycons batteries don't seem like they will last for years.

they will probably do "upgrade" releases. Like New 3DS, GB Color, etc. Even the ram upgrade for the N64 was meant to keep the system life going longer.

I think they're already coming up with ideas for new models just like what they've done with most of the portable ones, they'll come with some solutions along the way.

Yeah, they need new models for that. Even if they wish it lasts that long, the fact is their tech is outdated compared to it's rivals and if they move on to a new gen in a couple of years, wich i hope they don't Nintendo will be 2 gens behind and will get no third party support again.
