Bethesda interview including Oblivion and FALLOUT3

Quote:
And finally - how's Fallout 3 coming along?

Pete Hines: We've got a lot of folks working on that game now, and what I've seen of it so far is looking really good and has me very excited - I'm a big fan. We're approaching Fallout 3 as if we developed the first and second games - we're developing it just like we developed Oblivion. Fallout 3 is our baby, we want to stay true to what it is and we want to deliver something that all the fans think is worthwhile. We're trying to move the series forward, keeping it fresh and cool while staying true to its roots. When we're ready we'll let people know, and hopefully people will be excited about some of the ideas we have and some of the stuff we're up to.

Thats the only part I'm interested in. Despite being an Elder Scrolls whore, I'm waywayway more of a Fallout whore. I cant wait to see what they make of this game. Thuogh I do know one person who still isnt pleased. Hos name starts with a D

Fallout 2 was pretty mediocre. Never played the first one.

You suck. Fallout2 was one of the best rpgs out there with HUGE depth in what you could do. I turned my character into a porn star and champion boxer for fun.

No true Fallout fan would be pleased.

The game isn't out yet and Bethesda is already the worst thing to happen to the Fallout franchise.

LOL@Fallout 3. I don't like the sound of their approach to it. Fallout would make an interesting MMORPG, though. It's definitely not your average Everquest/KoreanRPG crud.

It's already been confirmed for at least 1 console. Bethesda may still take their sh!tty multiplatform strategy to a new level and make it for 3 or more platforms, though.

Far as I recall they said they were looking into porting it, not definately porting. For now they're working only with the PC version. There wont be any Morrowind/Oblivion near simultanious launch BS. Fallout is so not a console game. Especially if they stick to the same formula that they claim to.

It's pretty obvious you haven't paid much attention to its development. Bethesda announced FO3 as multiplatform. If I recall correctly, it even uses the same engine as Oblivion. It is most definately NOT keeping the same formula (their "claims" are so contradictory it's a joke).

This will be the Big Strike Three for Bethesda, no doubt.
