A very tenative list with a ton of filler in it. I say that because if you look at the 2007-08 sticky thread half those games either got delayed, canceled, or ended up being pretty lame.

There are some gems in there though, including the one and only PC game I have interest in right now, Diablo 3.

Alot of the list from the 2007 one were very good. Actually I'd dare say going up against both ps3 and 360, exclusive good games versus pc exclusive good games, pc easily won out. Last year was possibly the most PATHETIC year for those two consoles I've ever gone through. I'm still catching up on the 2008 games.

I agree. Looking at the previous years and even this 2009 list there are more good games then the normal person would have time to play if they were into all genres.

I'm just saying this guys mega-lists are filled with a ton of not-so-good games as filler, which when scrolled through one by one seems overwhelming. There are 145 games on the 2007 list alone. I doubt anyone with some taste could look me in the eye and say there were 145 worth-playing worth-my-cash PC games in one year, or even half that.

You could make a list like these for any platform. The Wii equivlent would be if I listed Red Steel and Super Swing Golf as "reasons to be a Wii gamer in 2006" simply because they were exclusive and had a little visual polish.

Anyways, this thread should be stickied to replace to old one.

Definitely no chance that even HALF of the 145 titles would be good. Ofcourse it also depends on your enjoyment of certain genres. Lets use fps for example, theres about 3-4 there I could point at and say those will be excellent. City builder games, theres a few easy there. RTS games, a few aswell. Micromanagement games like The Sims for example, theres a few there that look excellent. RPGs, I see about 3-4 there that would rock. Adventure games, probably point out 6-7. If you like alot of genres theres easily 20 games from there that would be considered awesome. At the very least. Possibly 30. But if theres 3-4 easy quality games in even 1 genre, thats pretty awesome on its own in my view.

Cant really say anything about the freeware games. But theres a few there that should be very good. Like that rpg for example Exit Fate. Great reviews and the guys previous rpg was also meant to be excellent. I reckon theres probably a dozen freeware games there that could be considered alot of fun to play. Best part is you dont need a good pc to play them.

And yeah, unstucky the old thread and sticky this one up. Hurry up! USELESS MODS

Forgot about this thread. Brilliant thread.
Plenty of interesting games unfortunate for me my mind cannot help but to ignore out all RTS, sport and driving genres. that like ignoring half the list.
Anyway here's a list of games that toke my attention the must.
-The Path
-Alternativa
-Machinarium
-Whispered World
-Limbo
deathspank and dark fall I am not so sure about. Could possibly be in the list if I could find an appropriate trailer for them.

I would like to make a list of recommendation, which I do have for my self, but no one listen to me.

Next to Star Wars and some other obvious ones I must give a shout out for Otherland. It looks interesting enough. I'm a sucker for cyberpunk, seeing one of the pic reminded me of REZ right away.

I'm very picky about the games I play and I don't ever play FPS games so I usually get maybe two dozen games a year.
