My Personal reviews:

Metal Slug 3/SNK/2000/ Neo-Geo (AES & MVS), PS2 (Import).
Rating: 10/10

If the world needs two things now it would be: More Free Porn and Metal Slug.

I would like to state one thing before I start. I am a HUGE SNK fan, HUGE. The game dropped in 2000, before the PS2. The game first drops you on a beach, with a pistol and some grenades, there is no real story when you first start, it doesn't give you any pretty FMV's , no bump-mapping, no extensive background that you need to know of, you are just there to kick some butt, and these huge crabs are coming toward you and you think ?Why did I buy this game? This is whack.? I said this, never did I know what the game had for me next. A couple crabs later you come to a submarine and a choice to take another path. This is where you find where the game shines, you can choose what you do, you can choose how you kick butt and who you kick butt with. The characters are fun and imaginative. You get Marco, Eri, Tarma, and Fio ( A personal favorite of mine). All great characters, all the characters have the same strengths and the same moves, but you find your personality seems to connect with the character you choose. There is absolutely nothing like running though a butt-load of soldiers and aliens and taking them all down with a machine gun and some 'nades.
In the end, the game becomes epic, you get so sucked into it you feel like you're Marco, Eri, Tarma, or Fio. The music, the gameplay, the speed. Everything about Metal Slug 3 is great.

Metal Slug kicks all ass. Even though each sequel is relatively similar to its predecessors and never really breaks new ground, I enjoy th hell out of them all anyway. I'm happy that they don't try and overthink the Metal Slug sequels. Does every sequel to ever game ned to break new ground? Only if the first game sucked or is completely stale due to countless other sequels.

King Of Fighters 2003/SNK/ Neo-Geo (MVS, AES)/2004
Rating: 8/10

Doin' the Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 thang' right.

Throughout the years, there have been many KOF's that have made us: Laugh, Love, Live, Spend-countless-hours-in-front-of-a-TV. And there are there are the rare instances where the game makes you: Cringe, Feel-bored, regret spending the $300 for the cart. Well, let me tell you the truth. This is one of the BEST KOF's.
Want 98's flair and style?! You got it in '03.
Want 94's feel of ?BRAND NEW!!1!? You got it in '03.
The MAJOR addition to the gameplay is the 3 Vs. 3 tag in and tag out matches. This speeds up the game BIG TIME, this is the breath of new life we needed in the KOF series (I will admit, It was getting a tad-bit bland) The new ?Hero Team? is great! Ash and the ?kr3w? bring the mosh to the new KOF. I can see this game exploding. Once it is released in the major arcades in the USA. After praising this game so much, don't think I have no grips with it. The major problem, well.....It's the same problem KOF has had for years, THE HIT DETECTION. But, it has seem to got worse in this one. Whenever you switch characters, there seems to be a bug where the enemy can attack you and you cannot block. This is a problem.
All and all, this does the Justice on the 3 Vs. 3. If you thought that Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 was wild. Just pick up this game with me facing you, and you got one hell of a ride.

Heh, when I first saw this thread, and that it said "Thread Starter: Neo-GeO," I thought that Icarus had changed his name.

I think we should all have our own review threads with the exact same title just to confuse people and for no other reason.

It wouldn't confuse me because it's easy to look where it shows the thread starter.

I also did post my impressions/review of Metal Slug 3 (the ps2 version) a looong time ago. It was a bad ass game. Too bad they gave it an unlimmited continue feature though. The game was wild and crazy.

Like I've said in another thread, great to hear those things about KOF 2003, it coexcist with the other great impressions i've seen around the net about KOF 2003. Tons of people enjoy this game. So gonna get it on the AES when it comes out.

I'm not sure how I'm reading this bit.. If I'm reading it correctly then its no bug. Thats there on purpose so you change intelligently, not for the heck of it.

Burning Rangers/Sega/Sega Saturn/1998
Rating: 6.5/10

Is their a great game under all those pixel's?

Burning Rangers is not a game not many people know about, and should they know about it? Not if you're a graphics Nazi. This game came out at the tail-end of the Saturn's very sad demise. The game has a very strange concept: Firefighting. Oh, let me correct that: Futuristic Firefighting with action! To add some cool, you have a jet-pack. The game runs on the modified ?NiGHTS INTO Dreams? engine, now NiGHTS looked really good, this game looks like it was unfinished. You start out as a rookie, Shou Amabane or Tillis, both who are rookies wanting to be firefighters. You go through some really UGLY training rooms. Do some really boring training and BAM you're in the game. You basically go around shooting flames they give you crystals and you have to have 10 crystals to ?transport? the person. The action is wonderful, your character seems to flow through their jumping and their backflips. While we are at the good points let's talk about the sound, The sound is amazing. You have to listen to your surroundings because you don't know when some big flame is going to come up and bite you in the ass. You get sucked into the game by the sound, you feel like you're the firefighter, and you feel you must rescue people. The intercom system is really great too. Now for the downsides, the game is unbelievably short. Only 4 missions, four short missions. And as a stated before, the graphics, oh god. You can count the pixels, and I am not exaggerating.

Final Point: The game has great action and great atmosphere but the graphics pull the game way down.

Next Review: Raident Silvergun
Upcoming reviews: Dracula X, Panzer Dragoon Saga. Sword Of The Beserk.
