New PS Vita model to be announced before TGS2013

I'd get one if it is a flip top model like the 3DS, but please put the buttons in correct positions.

Quote:
RUMOR: Japanese newspaper Tokyo Keizai reported a rumor that Sony is set to reveal a new PS Vita model in September before the Tokyo Game Show. The new model PCH-2000 will have a 6.3" display manufactured by Samsung (screen size of the current model is 5"), and the resolution will remain at 960 x 554 pixels. The amount of RAM will increase from 512MB to 1GB, to allow more programs to run in the background, the amount of RAM used by games will be unchanged (meaning games are still compatible between old and new models). In addition, the design of the new model will be more in-line with the PS4 design; and the system will launch with new game titles.

I just want 32gb built in memory, 99 dollars for a 32gb memory card is a rip off, I play a lot of games, but you can't download shit without at least 16gb of memory. I had a 8 gb card, filled it up with just a few games cause they are over 1-5 GBs. Uncharted for the vita is over 3 GBs right there.

Why would a Vita need a GPS? I'm hoping for video out so I can record the gameplay. But if they do, it'll probably be HDMI that's protected and unrecordable. HDMI sux.

Yeah being able to record gameplay would be a plus and those memory cards being cheaper would be a great. Not really concerned about the specs because they dont really address those 'issues'.

If Sony markets this as an Android + PS Vita tablet hybrid they may be able to attract a lot of customers, yeah if it can dual boot to Android and Vita, or running Android apps in a sandbox it would be awesome.

I don't think they will dual boot to android, that's what got them into trouble with linux and hacking.

That's a plus but even the wifi unit is a bit costly. It does need a price cut in general and maybe made a little trimmer in terms of its bundled features. They wanted a all in one but I personally feel it's to much. I don't need the gps, monthly charges on a AT&T network, or a front facing camera, maybe even that back panel touch pad. Taking those away could be $30 in savings already I would think.

There was no way this could ever be true.

Also, the button positioning QQ makes no sense to me. I didnt have any problems with it. The only problem is that the system can slide off your hands easily when playing. It doesnt have a very ergonomic hold design. But theres covers to fix that.

So this rumor seems to be partly correct, except for the part the new Vita gets a bigger screen, and the 1GB memory is internal storage not memory.
