Oh no I'm not against it. I'd like to see where it goes as it seems like an interesting platform. I'm just saying avoiding the iOS library is silly.

I'm not ignoring it, I'm simply ignoring the means to play them.

I'd love to start playing the games available on iOS, and on Android too, I know there'll be lots of gems hidden in there, but I have 0 interest in paying the premium price to do so. That's why the Ouya and Nexus 7, both being much more a price I can get on-board with, interest me.

But I'm never buying an iPhone or iPad till those prices go down, and knowing Apple they definitely won't go down. My only experiences with iOS games are on friend's devices. I borrowed a friend's iPad for a few days and I enjoyed it, sure, but I wouldn't buy it at the price it's at.

You're comparing a nexus 7, which is a 7" device, to a 10" ipad. Prices will be different. But apples bringing out a smaller version of it, probably 7" too this year. So that might be something worth checking out.

pretty sure similar high end android products are the same price as apple products
(like galaxy s3, galaxy note 10.1 etc.), well it is here in Australia

the nexus 7 is such an outlier, other companies won't have the balls to do it - release hardware at cost price?

I just bought an iPad and, while it is very cool, it will never be my dominant system of choice. Hell, it'll never be in the top 10. I bought Infinity Blade on it hoping for some good gaming time...20 min later when I beat it I was disappointed.

I think gaming handhelds are in trouble, they have been so for a long time now, not much they can do but, try to continue to innovate (nintendo) and make experiences that can't be done on phones. However, imagine if you are waiting in a line and want to kill time, oh shit what am I going to pull out, my 3ds or my smart phone? See.

That's because there is nothing stimulating us to use handhelds. Yet phones represent the sheer power we as humans have. Japan does things better because they see it as part of the culture. In America, we hand off those things and call them childish.

Infinity Blade was created more as a tech demo so you're not really meant to be amazed with it as a game. The second one they put a little more into it including more characters and story etc, but I havent played it. Go grab Chaos Rings. Or check the older iOS games thread for titles people have put up that are worth playing.

Hmm... A strange thing happened yesterday maybe fate? LOL. Anyway my friend brought a Ipad and he no longer wants his Ipod Touch so he just gave it to me for free. So I'll have a look around and see what I can see.

Play Chaos Rings for sure and see what else is around.
