I wouldn't say so, the Wii U-exclusive FIFA features are pretty damn awesome by the sounds of things, I'd say the Wii U is the best console for them by far as long as the online features hold up.

I hadn't till now when I searched it; wow, seems pretty bad. I wonder what happened behind the scenes for the Wii U to end up with a shitty version of the game.

It may very well be a secluded incident however since as I said I read about FIFA's features and the Wii U version seems fine, so it might just be Madden-related and not necessarily Nintendo and EA butting heads.
