The more I read about it, the more I'm finding myself genuinely impressed with it all, much more impressed than I have been with most, or any, new hardware announced by MS or Apple in recent years. The price will likely be the only thing that'd be a deal-breaker for me. I'd of course want the expensive model for what it can do, but might work out just too expensive.

If RT version can do all the Pro and desktop do, I'll get the RT version instead.
I can imagine Photoshop on it will be a fantastic experience. Wacom should be in uneasy state now.

The Surface is pretty fantastic, the more I read about it the more I love it.
I could be sat outside Townhouse (like a Starbucks but better; can get a glass of orange juice, salad, sandwich and bowl of chips for £3!!!) and be playing a game on my Steam account, then maybe put Photoshop on and do some graphics, and then forget I have to do a report first, prop it up on the table, open my files from my memory stick in Word and get that done, then print it off wirelessly, and then slap it back into tablet mode and watch a movie while I go home. A tablet experience is a limited one, that's why I don't use them; a tablet can do less than my netbook can, and nothing better really. This can, however. This isn't a limited thing. Microsoft finally did right for me with this. Great stuff. As I said though, I'm guessing it'll be expensive so we'll see about whether or not I'm jumping on board.

I'm always positioning tablet as a secondary / substitute of my desktop in my home. If Surface brings convenient like I want (remote access to my home Windows server/desktop), I can work (mainly Photoshop ; since we are webcomic team) and play my files at home wherever I want with it.
Sounds like my dream tablet.

not sure how you are going to be running photoshop on the (guessing) limited RAM, professionally
adobe would probably shoehorn an iOS-like semi-photoshop that talks to the photoshop on your desktop unless you are using remote desktop, which could work... but other tablets have that function |

I would never use remote desktop-like stuff for graphics critical work like Photoshop. It works by sending a compressed video stream to the tablet (or whatever) of what the desktop screen sees. Compressed video streams and graphics work do not go hand in hand.
Also, will this talk ONLY to Windows computers? If so, that sucks. Apple is forced to have their products talk to Windows and Mac computers and that ability makes their products much better than if they only talked to Mac. MS should make sure their heads are out of their assholes and make it talk with Windows, Mac, Linux or whatever. It would absolutely help sell the product. Or at least offer a computer side app like PS3 Media Server for each type of OS... OUT OF THE BOX. |

regardless of the tablet's OS, you wouldn't want to be using the full suite on a limited tablet imo in saying that - why weren't you excited about photoshop on android or ios? lol meh... i still want this surface |
