Unreal Engine 4
And for giggles...let's look at an early video from the Unreal Engine 3 from 2007. Yeah, it's not in HD....I tried to find one but couldn't. Think about how far Unreal Engine 3 got (Arkham City, for example). I can't wait to see how programmers will use the new engine... It's too bad that survival horror games aren't really prominent as they once were....I could think of a few ways to use some of these new lighting features that would really increase the fun of those games. Imagine exploring a dark area and seeing a faint reflection of something that's in the dark room with you. You turn around and can't see it....

I don't see why you couldn't do what you suggest on Unreal 3. You see the reflection of something then as you turn the game removes the object entirely, nothing there. Pretty easy to implement, actually.
Also, why can't they name engines after Duke Nuke 'em or Halo instead of Unreal? When was the last Unreal game? Also, calling an engine "Unreal" is similar to calling it "fake, not realistic at all". Duke Nuke 'em Engine 4 would be better. |
