I think Fox is as much of a ok-guy as the next person but it was closer to a solar system than a galaxy. Now his Dad, wow, he was a hero.

Well.

This is interesting.

http://paulgalenetwork.com/home/2012...d-fusion-saga/

Starfox/Metroid Fusion Saga

- The game switches off between intense Arwing space and planetary battles as Fox makes his way to the planet that Samus crashed on and a Metroid Prime-like experience of gameplay as Samus on this planet, gradually uncovering its mysteries, leveling up, etc.
- The Star Fox stages represent what the series is best known for, including the chatter and coming to the aid of the rest of your team, all range mode battles, and on rails stages.
- The Metroid part of the game puts you alone, void of human or any talking character contact, and like the Prime series, sees you gaining upgrades, battling bosses, and in this case, repairing your ship.
- The game is said to be epic in size, scope, ambition.
- The pacing has been perfected to not interrupt what the feeling is behind either franchise, since Star Fox is more often known for being acceptable to have short sessions with and Metroid rather the opposite. You can opt to continue playing either just Samus’ part or Fox’s part without crossing over for much of the main game (or play it as it’s scripted back and forth), but will eventually have to complete both, as the characters will ultimately meet up.

So retro studios is making a new and improved Starfox Adventure game featuring Samus in first person for all the foot missions.

I'm more of a Metroid fan than Star Fox tbh, this makes me more likely to buy it.

Well that's a weird cross over. Certainly didn't expect Samus to be retconned into the same universe as a squadron of puppy and pals fighter pilots. Meh. I can't say I'm surprised by Metroid staying FPS and that's fine and all but I'd over look any story silliness if they went back to 2D style. Oh well!

Man as ridiculous as this sounds, as long as its fun to play I'll probably be okay with it.

Also when I read Metroid Fusion in the first part of your post I was excited for a possibility that they'd explore more with Samus post Metroid Fusion. So much for that!

I'll pass, would rather have the games seperate.

How awesome Metroid Prime has been on Ninty consoles though. MP3 was one of the best Wii games without a doubt, handled brilliantly, and this Ninty console is the first one where it's got semi-decent FPS controls available. Would love to see what they can come up with.

Eh get over yourselves you sniveling lil sniverlers! It might be kinda cool.

But honestly I'd rather just have Metroid Prime 4.

The Other M story, dialogue, and characteristic of Samus was cheesy. I blame that on Team Ninja. Retro did a superb job with Samus for the Metroid Prime series.

Oh the irony, we turn to American studios to continue the franchises that Nintendo want to profit from but doesn't know how to. ;)

Retro has been fantastic with the Metroid Primes and Donkey Kong Country Returns tbh, and like DS said Team Ninja was responsible for Other M (which I liked too but not as much as the Primes)

So did you guys hear the rumors that this maybe a crossover game with Metroid? Sounds kind of bizarre...
