Ubisoft. Ever since GAME shut shop in the UK, seen a little spike in sales from Amazon and other places. Not a lot, but it's definitely there. Not bothered by GAME going down the drain at all though, supermarkets and Amazon always give better deals for new games anyway, I haven't been anywhere near a GAME in years apart from to look at their Vita deals.

It's awesome of Blizzard to do that though, Alucard's right that it's a lot more than what most other developers would bother doing. I'd love to see Activision in the same position. They'd probably e-mail everyone a photo of Kotick in a bathtub of money flipping them off.

GameStop does that, but they like to lie to customers and say they can't cancel their preorders. Which is simply bogus. The only thing it does is count against their total number of reserves which helps them coughthe store managercough get a raise every year.

Off the topic, but still you'll see game stores do crazy stuff like that everywhere.

If you give a company like GAME your money for something you'll get later, and you don't get any interest, you're probably the same type of person who justifies a $25 Overdraft charge for a $10 POS transaction.

Still, it sucks for those that made a stupid decision and (puts on sunglasses) paid the price for it.

That's why I only preorder games from Amazon. Price is locked down once you place the order (I've gotten a few games for less because Amazon undervalued the sale). You can cancel anytime before the game ships. No money down. You are only charged once the game ships to you.

That's not quite true, it's a lot more complicated. Secured creditors, ranked creditors. It's a really annoying field of law, so much so that I can barely remember it, so I won't waltz in with a legal opinion, only to say that it's not quite as simple as that- at least in the UK.

I think you're incredibly foolhardy in your hubris. In my uninformed opinion video game sales would hurt should the dedicated sellers go out of business. Broadband speeds in the UK are some of the slowest in Europe on average, I believe, so the majority of people won't be rushing to download 25gb games. Hell, even I wouldn't want to, the way Virgin caps you after 4gb downloads.

Correct me if you can, I really don't know much about this, so this is just opinion, I don't mind being set right.
